Doesn't Work (ergh) I have 5 chat windows. 1) Group/Raid Chat 2) Guild Chat 3) Private Chat 4) Common Chat 5) Game/Combat Chat Every window is a different size. The game DOES NOT ACCEPT my font sizes. I select font size '20'; it gives me 23 (in one window). I select font size '20' in another window; it gives me 26. So... I ignore the stated size and randomly select numbers until it looks right. Then; when I relog the character they are all changed again. ACK! Here's where window size comes in.... it looks to me like font size programming is totally screwed up and that font size has been made RELATIVE TO A BASELINE WINDOW SIZE. Font size "20" on one window is a DIFFERENT SIZE then font size "20" on another window. Such that when I select font size "20" on my window; SOE is over-riding my entry with a font size representing what my screen is showing if it were rendered in this invisible baseline window. When I relog; all my fonts have reverted back to what SOE would make them if the chars were rendered in this baseline window of theirs (which makes all my fonts HUGE because I'm playing at approx 1700x1200 resolution). And another thing.... why in the name of god can't the INPUT fonts be made bigger ????????? Let me tell you... at approx 1700x1200 the input text is MINISCULE.
Message Edited by bigmak2010 on 06-14-2005 10:05 AM

Been having the exact same issue myself.

My two cents on this one are the same as yours. I hope it gets fixed soon, it's driving me up a wall tor eset them every time I log back in.

Same problem here... with an added bonus. I have three chat windows... two of them disappear every time I log out.. on ALL of my characters. Don't ask my why.. I have no idea. Every time I log in.. I have to remake two of my chat windows and resize the fonts for 5 minutes before they seem to stick. :smileyindifferent:

I feel your pain. I am having to resize text after every log in, zone and even during combats. It is gettting to be a pain. But I am sure that my /bug reports everytime have to be piling up somewhere.

LOL..... I had same problems here !!

I only use 2 chat windows but those windows used to disappear EVERY time I logged out, so I had to reopen windows and had to reset the allowed dialogues and messages from the game; I had this problem for 3 weeks, then (MAGICALLY) a day I've found my 2 windows fixed on my screen ........

Then SOE modified fonts :smileysad: ; since that day I still find my 2 windows, but the font size are always set at 20 even if I set them at 14 every time I log in and log out. No way to keep them set at font Size=14 .

P.S. didn't they fix the position for opened bags/chests? Every time I open a bag in my inventory (or at bank) I have to re-position them on my screen :smileymad:

The fonts resizing bug seems to be related to the chat windows vanishing bug... and the fix appears to be the same: get one character where the font sizes/chat windows work and copy that ini file... then rename it for each character that is having the problem. I have 10 characters and was having to resize my fonts over and over since the "font" patch... then I finally got the font size to stick with one character, so I copied their ini file and renamed it for each of my other characters and viola! my fonts are now stable!

I think the main point is that finding a fix should not be necessary for the players. We are all paying SOE to provide an enjoyable stable gaming environment. The fact is, with every change they make they seem to introduce new problems. Sometimes these provoke interest from SOE and they fix them, sometimes they seem to completely ignore them. You'll notice I say "seem". It could be that they are working quietly to address all these identified problems in the background. But since many threads never get a response how can we know. No wonder so many players get frustrated and leave.
