I had just reached a glorious milestone last night of having completed 1000 quests in the game.

Now I log in and I've dropped down to 952 quests completed.

Can you change it back so that collection quests are counted towards quests completed please?

Just make it like Heritage or Tradeskill quests. They don't count towards the 50 quest limit but they still count as quests completed.

Yes, I don't understand why they didn't do it this way. It could of saved them alot of time and coding to just do it this way, instead of adding a more complicated looking collection tab.

I don't understand the problem. On the collection tab there is a number of quests completed. If you want to see how many you have done just add quests completed + collections completed.

Does it really matter as long as everyone has their quest counted the same way? Look at it this way now you can brag about numbers completed in two areas instead of one.

Message Edited by Silvorn on 06-13-2005 01:22 PM

ROFLMAO - sorry I really had a laughing fit when you said the 70-odd collections are darn easy to finish.

I never bothered with collection quests until the change.

Now all those odd little items i pick up i collect as my quest log is no longer getting full with stuff that i see as a side event to my game.

Swap it back and and i'll just end up deleting them and not bothering again as i would rather play and do real quests than spend time searching for stuff i may or may not find and clog up my quest log again.

It's not hard for them to change it so they work like Heritage and Hallmark quests..

You can't delete them and they DONT count towards your 50 quest limit.

Well i had a fww of them that i hadnt deleted, one that only req' 2 or 1 more item.

but i had a full quest log of 50 quests from various zones, since the change i now have room for 14 more quests. I assumed that this was because of the collection quests.

Sorry, folks, it's not going to happen.See this post. The fact that collections don't count toward your finished quests now is Working As Intended and there are no plans to change it.

It makes perfect sense to me that the devs decided to knock collections off of your total quests completed. It goes right along with allowing you to have the collections separate from your 50 allowed quest total in your journal. If the collections exist separate from your 50 allowed at one time, which gives us some nice flexibility, then it seems par for the course we should accept the separation of collections from other quests as a whole, and not include them in your all time quests completed tally.

That isn't working as intended. That's working as mis-understood by player feedback.

Just curious....but why do you guys care so much about your quest totals?

SilentSam wrote:
Just curious....but why do you guys care so much about your quest totals?

The reason we care so much was that they never said *ANYTHING* about this change ahead of time. I wouldn't be complaining if they had notified us ahead of time that they would have been removed. Its the principle of the thing.

I understand both sides of it, but its like Higby said. They are no longer quests, they aren't part of the quest system, and therefore they no longer count towards quest totals.

They are a totally different type of thing now, hence they get their own tab in the journal.

It sucks, but it makes sense.
