<DIV>I keep hearing this, that 9b is going to boost scout DPS. One person told me that a group on Test server parsed their scout and they were doing 300-350 DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yet I have not seen this mentioned ANYWHERE, so I'm wondering if this is just got everyone fooled into thinking it's going to happen, including myself? Can someone tell me definitively if this is even being worked on?</DIV>

I would love to think this is true, but I wouldn't count on it.  The only dps increase scouts MIGHT see anytime soon is the new combat system.  Don't count on SOE to listen to all aspects of the consumer base, they mainly focus on people who play tank classes.

<DIV>What I heard was that FoH had parsed scouts doing 300-350 DPS on Test server. So I'm assuming that was with the new combat changes? But only thing I read of the combat changes coming in next couple of weeks is that there would be more damage dealt if your STR was significantly higher than the mob's AGI. And that would effect all melee DPS not just scouts, so..I'm still confused lol.</DIV>

I always take these high DPS claims with a pinch of salt. People throw around numbers like "300-350" DPS with no proof, or even basic information like the mob they used, what their stats were, what weapons used etc. If we can get some detailed information on how this figure was obtained then I think we could make a more informed decision as to if we can start celebrating or not. As a Ranger, given the right circumstances I can deal a max of about 6,500 DPS. Just find a group of 5 low level mobs with about 1300 HP each. Fire off Storm of Arrows at them and they will all die with a single shot, time taken to die about 1 second. Does this mean I can claim to do 6,500 DPS ? I would suggest not. I'm sure a Wizard can claim even higher DPS figures with some of their AE attacks too, but it is of little significance to the "real world" DPS of a class. <div></div>

Well I'm assuming that Fires of Heaven guild (FoH) knows how to test DPS accurately, that's why I was giving this rumor some credit.

<DIV>One other thing to keep in mind when reading about FoH... they are EXTREMELY well outfitted I would imagine. They're not likely to be dressed as the average joe like the rest of us.</DIV>

<DIV>Combat Changes have not been active on Test for a couple of weeks -- they turned them off after introducing part three, because part three destabilized combat too badly without the additions of the new parts.  Don't know when they'll be back.  So that's probably not part of it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From my point of view in the 30s, scout DPS is actually pretty good.  As a 33 Assassin/36 Brigand combo playing in the Feerrott we were wiping out trios of level 39 and level 40 lizardmen one after the next, without even breaking a sweat.  I haven't run my parser in a long time but when I did I was breaking 100 pretty routinely.  *shrugs*  So I imagine that at level 50, working with other scouts, and with excellent equipment, the DPS is quite high, even if it's not exactly in the 300 range.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Plus just because a scout has one staggeringly amazing fight and you tell everyone about it doesn't mean it's something you can do regularly.  Sometimes the odds are just in your favor.</DIV>

<P>scout dps is fine. certain warrior classes' dps needs to be lowered. its a sensitive subject to take away dps from anyone, but thats the real issue. </P> <P>i parse lvl 50 groups all the time. we all have full ebon and adept 3's. Im a ranger. I parse just below the mages, sometimes when i get good hits I parse above. This is normal, and lvl 52^^'s go down very quick, too quick in fact. The problem is that our berserker can routinely out parse the mages too. He doesnt have better gear or spells or strategy, his class is simply overpowered. Everyone knows berserkers are overpowered. There are a couple tank classes like this. Bring down those few overpowered plate wearing tank classes and this would go a long way to shrink the dps gap. </P> <P>Light armor warriors should have good dps, they sacrifice armor for it. I ask you, what do Berserkers sacrifice for their ungodly dps? They have plate armor, the defence of guardians and the dps of an assassin. Its a joke. </P>

<DIV>A well equipped scout I know can hit 260 dps and is in constant competition against the brawler classes for dps in raids.</DIV>

<DIV>I did not log into test.  I talked to some of the other scouts about their current dps in a solid group, many hit 275-325 easily and reach 350 and over often.  I think one of our assassians has roughly 270 haste on raids, so that may be a reason for the large outputs.  I average about 150-200 haste on raids and I get around 240.  The rumor you may have heard is what current FoH scouts are hitting.  I highly doubt there is any major increases in dps for scouts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Having the right classes in your group can offer drastic dps boosts to the members it contains. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Linyen<BR>50 Ranger Permafrost<BR>Fires of Heaven </DIV>

<DIV>in a well made melee dps group pretty much any class can hit 250 dps with ease you just need to know how to set up  your groups.   and xmin our top assassin was parsing just over 300 against mak and shak  arch lich king zalak and dryalek the other night, grats on that fabled DW you -insert explitive here-</DIV>

<P>Hmm couldnt be the high dps on the scout be situational too it depends on what grp hes in i mean does he have a fury buffs and inq haste whats the duration of the fight etc.?</P> <P>I know some scouts in my guild do like 250/300 dps dont use parsers much myself dont even know how they work cause im a healer, aka fury.</P> <P>Btw show support classes like inq/fury/etc some love when they up your dps instead of showing off that your all "uber" and stuff and see where some of that "ungodly" dps comes from  hehe</P> <p>Message Edited by quetzaqotl on <span class=date_text>05-30-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:47 AM</span>

It depends on the scout class too.Scouts in our raiding force consistantly do less DPS than berserkers and bruisers and monks. We also can't take any riposte like those classes can. With mobs hitting for 5k - 8k riposte before you have a chance to turn off combat, well, one shot kills suck. We just can't handle them.
