<DIV>The very fact that this has generated so much debate and balanced (ahem) argument just shows that this is a topic of interest to many people and guilds that are affected by SOE favouritism towards certain guilds and the workings of the test server.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Until I get bored or banned or get an answer from SOE I will keep asking.....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffff99>Just what does SOE intend to do about guilds that they allow to get advanced testing on new content and then those same guilds go ahead and get game firsts and access to the newest and best loot as soon as the new content moves from test to live?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffff99></FONT> </DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV>Edit: Ok just read this response from Faarwolf on one of my other threads that was locked:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I lock this stuff because you are essentially PICKING on FoH.  FoH is NOT the only guild we use on test, but you've focused on them and picked them out for some reason.  We will always use high-end guilds to test out content.  We don't use just one.  No matter who we use, someone else will get bent...so, no I'm not allowing a dozen threads picking on FoH.  It is pointless and Gallenite has already addressed it. </DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe I should be more clear about what I am objecting to: (hopefully I can finish my response before this thread is locked as well  :smileyvery-happy:   )</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I could not care less about FoH - I don't know anyone from their guild other than a few somewhat frustrated posters trying to either explain things or simply resorting to insults and name calling - can't say I blame them). If they want to be the most uber guild around good luck to them - doesn't effect me in the slightest. If they just want to keep to themselves and have fun then again good luck to them. I have no axe to grind with FoH. Can I make it and clearer - I AM NOT in the SLIGHTEST bit CONCERNED about FoH.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The people I do care about and am concerned about are SOE and their behaviour in this whole sorry affair.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>They are in a position of power and responsibility. In my opinion they have let themselves down badly and quite frankly have shown a shocking lack of judgement and lack of empathy with people that are concerned about things like game firsts. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have already posted as to why I believe this and will spare you (this time :smileywink:  ) with the details. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you go read through some of my posts you will see I am actually quite a SOE fan but that doesn't mean I am blind.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by zDocWho on <span class=date_text>05-13-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:02 AM</span>

<P>I guess I don't see what the big deal is.  So some people get a preview of the mob and learn something about it beforehand.  They will likely learn it quickly when its released anyways.  The good thing here is that when the mob is released its better tested and hopefully not as buggy.  The other options is to let soe test it themselves without raiding guilds and then we can all complain when things don't go well and hope they can fix it and apply the change quickly.</P> <P>So for SOE its a catch 22 now.  They can favor one or two guilds who will help them out by testing things and making Eq2 a better game overall and stable raid encounter releases or they can just test it themselves and people will complain about bugs instead and demand quick fixes.  Personally as a player I would prefer them to use outsiders to help test new raids since not all things are  well recieved by the players and its better to catch it on test before it hits live even if it does mean a few guilds have a slim advantage.</P>

<DIV>Just disable "Discovery" on the test server. After all it is made to test content, not gain fame. Im sure it wouldnt be that hard to do, and the content would still be tested, the people that enjoy making Game Wide or Server Discoveries will be happy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Seems like a pretty easy solution to me.</DIV>

<DIV>Big deal, they might get some discovery credit.  Who really cares, discovery means nothing.  They are putting in time to test content, if that means they know how to get itemX the day it comes out on live, so be it, they earned it IMHO.  Just because they got it first, doesn't stop you from getting it later.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only thing I would be against is if they knew how to complete all the Live Events before it hit the live servers.  And they ended up with all the special live event titles/rewards on their server.  That I could see as unfair since these rewards are one time deals that no one else can get them after completed afaik.</DIV>

You've been warned multiple times about your constant harassment of FoH and your reposting of locked threads.  Both Gallenite and I have responded to these and there is nothing more to say on the subject.  We need high end guilds to test content, and we've multiple guilds that do so.  Of course, not everyone can, that is just the reality of the situation.  Regardless you are knowlingly breaking the rules on this forum over and over inspite of being warned, and as such your posting ability has been suspended.
