<DIV>Quote from Faarwolf:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gallenite has already responded to the FoH conspiracy theorists out there. I'm really tired of seeing them bashed when they aren't doing anything wrong.</DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have until now been a fairly interested but neutral observer of all the hoo-haa going on about FoH (and other guilds) being given special privileges by SOE in order to test out new content.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I fully sympathise with the SOE line which is they need to find co-operative guilds to test out new content in a robust manner. I can see the need for that and I am sure that in the end the players benefit from this. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can also see the problems that many players (myself being one of them) have with the headstart that this gives to FoH and other guilds that test out new content. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><FONT color=#ffff00>HOWEVER</FONT></STRONG></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SOE has fallen badly short in several key areas:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The almost religious fervour which SOE appears to be locking threads on this subject has started me thinking that SOE really DOES have something to hide. I have no idea what it is but something is starting to smell very fishy. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SOE has been doing the testing in relative secrecy. Far better to have said outright in the beginning that they would be looking for guilds to help them in fact they should have invited guilds to volunteer. I am sure they would have had a lot of interest and would have been able to spread the load more fairly. Secrecy in this case although not total has been enough to start people thinking that there must be something that SOE is trying to hide.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SOE has totally failed to address the very valid and extremely important objection to this method which undoubtedly gives the guilds testing an unfair advantage over all other guilds in achieving some game firsts. SOE must realize that the chance to be first with something in this game is important to a large portion of their player base. Being first or the best in something garners RESPECT. It is human nature and an important part of what drives many people. Of course this subject is a Doctoral thesis but it cannot be denied. SOE should not, indeed must not ignore this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

This is actually a very interresting thought. I have never looked at it that way.

testing high end stuff can be a very lucrative thing, and one that shouldnt be allowed to be done by anyone who fancies it. if SoE has worked with this guild before and they are found to be good on testing, and not abusing their chances, i see no reasons to not stay at whats working. most ppl dun want to test to help the game, they want to help themselves, wich means giving out chance to anyone is what will ruin the testing. if ye want to be able to test high end stuff in testserver, start by earning it... look for bugs and exploits, try to recreate situtations, keep full documentations and send it all in. theres plenty of stuff needing to be reported on live servers, and not meaning /bug my spells dun work /end bug. a one liner isnt gonna be any helpfull and will not stand out. show yer value as a tester, and ye might be invited, crying 'Unfair' will get nothing. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>you people just really dont get it. the fact that we and other guilds where on test was no secret. we wore our guild tags while on test, talked to people on test, and told people on our server we where doing it. thier is nothing to hide. Devs port us to a certain mob, have us kill it, spawn it again changed a little have us kill it again, say thanks we got the info we needed have a nice day. we kill these mobs first try in each form they throw at us. Its not about us learning 1337 stats on how to kill the mobs. we dont know how its going to be when it goes live. its not about us learning quests like the plague. its about giving the devs info on how to make the game better. You people cry about us getting server firsts but we are going to get them weather we are testing the mob or not. If we kill it first try when we test it we would have killed it first try when it went live with no testing. this isn't that hard to understand people. You cry about not being given the chance to do this yourself and that we are favored but do you stop to think of WHY we got chosen, its because we have proven that we get to the content first and kill it first and report what is wrong with it(Hi spirit of vox). yes without any kind of testing we got to spirit first found her bugged as hell beat her down and reported all the crap that was wrong with the encounter. Is it starting to get through your think skulls yet? When your guild is the one at the top then maybe you will be asked to do this like AL and FoH have been. </P> <P> </P> <P>On a side note we did the underworld event like 3 days after LS opened found it broken and reported it broken. we checked to see if it was fixed for a month or two and then forgot about it pretty much. So grats NPU on a game first and thanks for letting us know its fixed now so we can go wtfpwn something new and have 15min of exitment before going back to the normal pharmage.</P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P>Mord</P>

As I see it I think that the trust needs to be rebuilt between FoH and SOE as this is entirely a new guild with very few original members from EQ1 FoH. I dont know exacty how many tests you have done on the test server but really dont claim that this guild has long term status with SOE as it is entirely a new guild with many new members.
