1st off let me say this is how things worked in eq1 and I feel they work the same way in eq2.

They never truly beat anything when its being tested. What happens is the dev's will toss a mob out there and watch FoH do it. 99% of the time the mob being tested is the hardest in the comeing expansion. Now what this will do is give the dev's an idea what the "top" guild can do with the given gear of the old content and what a smaller guild who is still getting this old gear will be able to handle. Now this is only a small view of what the mob will look like, changes are made over and over to the mob. FoH or any other guild able to test content will in no way have a leg up on anyone else when content goes live.

Let me just give a small view of this by what has happened so far. AL beat darathar 1st as they were the 1st to test the daragon because in my views the dev's truly could not take in what a guild could handle at this stage in the game . Now after the testing from AL was done FoH beat darathar after it had been changed from what the dev's saw AL could do. It was later changed a 3rd and 4th time to what people could handle with the gear they had and changes to the games as in the bruiser shrug off change.

The same thing happend in eq1 time and time over where a guild like TR would test content , it would go live, then when TR got the the same stage of content they had tested and it had to be changed more and more to what people would be able to handle ( Plane of Time ring a bell ). Sony can in no way see 5 months ahead of time to what gear people will have due to the odds of gear droping on their random system. The testing before live is just a stage in which the dev's try to see what kind of gear a guild might have at this stage and make content based on that which they will and do change after live.

Now FoH was chosen to test the bloodline adv pack which if it worked out the same as eq1 they would not have done any quest, followed any storeline, or beat any mobs other then the last boss. As I stated before testing this last boss does 1 thing and that is to give the dev's an idea of how to gear this whole zone. They will take the info FoH gave them on the last boss and change the zone to reflect what is to come with how hard to boss will be and change the boss to be in line with a guild able to do it.

Now the whole quest leading up to darathar was well planned out as most have seen but for the ones who did it before changes the mobs before darathar and darathar himself were sad at best. They are still somewhat sad in how hard they are. Now if you take a look at bloodlines the zones leading up to the raid zone and the raid zone itself was THE best thing in eq2 yet. Now the gear was [Removed for Content] poor at best but the zone itself was outstanding and the reason of this was because it was TESTED.

AL and FoH are chosen to test content because they are the best guilds on eq2 atm.. If you want to test something how about stop [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]ing and become a guild that is more then just talk then the dev's will take a look at you. FoH beat you to server 1st because they are better then you its just that simple. Stop trying to make this system out to be some leet uber guilds only club if you show the dev's you have what it takes to test the hardest content to come then sure they will give you the chance to. One reason the guilds who test content are the ones to get server or worldwide 1st are becuase THEY ARE THE BEST GUILDS IN THE GAME hence why they are testing the content.
