<DIV>yep its annoying and i hope that its made to be a bit smoother. Someone got technical with me and explained how it can be easy to make just telling the old socket to accept commands from the new socket until a zone in takes place.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the 5 minute "your account is in use," then kick u all the way back to desktop is just BS,  it may aswell just say wait 5 mins before trying to log in if you are coming back from a LD.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>This used to happen to me all the time in EQ1 aswell, longest time i had was 20 mins, which was made more frustrating cos i was not in a nice safe place at the time.</P> <P>Also trying to get a GM to reboot your character really isnt going to work in EQ2 becuase they never seem to answer you when your in the chatroom trying to get assistance.</P> <P>As with most things that go wrong in these games just gotta sit and hold on while the system sorts itself out, oh and do what i did and buy a huge inflatable hammer so you can whack the crap out of the keyboard to let out some frustration =).</P>

<P>There used to be an exploit in EQ that would dupe items (I believe), which is why the 1018 "Error" was implimented (it's actually a piece of code in the program the programmers placed in the game at the devs request). Apparently, the 1018 "Error" was left out of EQ2 for many, many months - and then they decided to add in 1018s again. Before LU6, whenever I'd LD (which happened rarely prior to LU6, and too often post LU6) I could log back in immeadiately. Now...we're stuck with 1018. Which sucks for me because my video card (GeForce FX 5200 256MB with the newest Omega drivers) and EQ2 don't get along and I get the blue screen of death (error and physical memory dump) alot and go LD.</P> <P>So this "Error" they added into the game is costing me alot of play time. Not to mention remaining in the game for five minutes and dying when I LD during a fight with anything above a grey con.</P>

Even if the original poster was rude, I agree with him and understand the frustration. When you go LD, you want to come back as fast as you can. But you are blocked, Account is in use... -sigh- I am a tank, when I go LD, I want to come back quickly and save the group...but I can't come back, it's saying my account is in use and I have to wait. Is it possible to remove this waiting time please?

The most annoying thing about this, isnt the account being locked stuff, its that when you do get back in, you are unable to zone until you do a /camp and log back in yet again. <div></div>

But I have had an issue of having spent around 1 gold so far in repairing my armor from all the times I LDed during fights and died because of the remaining in game part of the 1018.</DIV>

<DIV>Your character stays in the world for about 10 minutes or so from what I hear.  If you are using auto-login,   try using log into character selection screen instead.  It seems to log your character out much faster than when selecting your character off the bat and you don't get booted out of EQ either.</DIV>

<DIV>Back to the topic at hand, this is a serious issue in my book.  Perhaps, as suggested, the reason for this was to combat duping.  If so I applaud the effort, but must insist that they find some other solution.  They have fixed the problem with zoning after returning from a LD, but this 10 minute lockout is becoming increasingly annoying.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My guild has started to raid a little and I can tell you, with the graphics being pushed and 24 people all together, we generally see 2-3 LDs on our way to the main event.  This stops everyone dead in their tracks until the person returns, which in the end means upwards of 30 minutes wasted waiting on people. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This game crashes, blackscreens, LDs, etc.  For some people it happens fairly often.  10 minutes is WAY too long to lock the character out. At the very least I would hope a Dev or Mod could respond and explain the official position behind this, I can't believe the sole purpose is to stop a duping technique...there must be other options. </DIV>
