<DIV>I know this has probably been posted, but I just want to get a view of what everyone thinks about the health/power pools issues.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For me Im a caster. My power is barely a hair over a tanks power at the same lvl but their health is way above mine. I have all yellow and orange armor with great stats. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Without buffs im a joke in both areas. With buffs I can understand the substantial gap in health pool compared to a tank. But to have the same amount of power is just plain mean, since casters rely heavily on power. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Being a wizard, Im always draining my power pool due to spells using quite a bit and the regen with the best drink I can buy still not able to keep me going fast enough.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Solution: give casters about the same amount in power pool as tanks do in their health pool.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Or lower the cost of power to casts spells for mages/priests. </DIV>

Level 37 Illusionist here. No tank of a similar level <i>even comes close</i> to my power pool. In fact, I regularly see tanks 10 levels over me who have significantly less power. <div></div>
<DIV>The size of your power pool relative to a tank is an unfair comparison. Why?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A mage attack that uses exactly the same about of power a tank attack does will probably hit for between 2-6 times as much damage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This issue is not the size of your power pool. It's your power use/effect ratio. And believe me, yours is much better than a tanks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As a matter of fact, if you had that much more power than a tank, your tank would be OOP while you were just happily nuking away, and the mob would eat you alive. What's the use of more power if using it is going to kill you?</DIV>

Comparing apples with pears here, aren´t we? Power pool size does say nothing, power use efficieny is what it´s all about. <div></div>

<P>"Without buffs im a joke in both areas. With buffs I can understand the substantial gap in health pool compared to a tank. But to have the same amount of power is just plain mean, since casters rely heavily on power."</P> <P>Those statements would have some validity if combat arts didn't use power. Since SOE chose not to separate "magic" from traditional "combat" skills" by having one use "power" or "mana" and the other use "stamina" or "endurance", your protrayal of tanks as "not needing power the way a caster does or should" is spurious. Tanks need power for their combat arts just as much as casters need it for their spells. Therefore, any argument against tanks having as much power to burn as casters lacks validity.</P>

I have about 1599-2k power(depending on buffs and from whom) he has 3-5k(same deal) so I would say why dont you wait until youve gotten up above level 25?</DIV>

<span><blockquote><hr>JarredDarque wrote:To Mills, fyi I ama 37 pally, with over 2500 health and about 1900 power same lvl...and more power.<hr></blockquote></span>Well, I'm assuming you got my power from either my character page or sig (which pulls the info from my character page). That number is either unbuffed or just wrong... as is the one on your character page I assume (<span class="field_data_small">1,429)</span>. I normally push between 2100 and 2250 solo, depending on which gear I'm wearing. But even so, 1,900 is significantly higher than 99% of the tanks I've seen. <div></div>
