You stated: "Shields now have the following base chances to Block: Tower (20%), Kite (19%), Round (5%), Buckler (3%)" -- http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=tup&message.id=45 While it would make me very happy as a Paladin to have a 19% base block rate, Im curious if you typo'd there as 10% would better fit the progression (halving from shield size to shield size).  Afterall, 9 is right next to 0. I thought this at first, and then re-read that all skills/spells/buffs that increase shield skills are bing removed. This basically takes the shield buff out of the Stance line of buffs we have. So I guess SoE is artificially giving us that increase anyways by upping the base block from 15% (what it is now) to 19%. <div></div>

Or is the increase in base block what you get for losing a number of buffs?

We have some buffs that increase defence and parry too. No idea what will happen to them with the new changes. <div></div>

Please remember that these are simply base values, and will be modified based on the level of the shield, the "tier" of the shield (treasured, fabled, etc), and the skill of the user. A 1% difference in the base block rate may well translate into a larger change when you are talking about level 40 shields, for instance. I equipped a shield factor 15 buckler on my newbie dwarf last night, and it provided her with 2.5% additional avoidance.  But the base value for bucklers is 3.0%. Similarly, even though the base value for very light armor is 10%, my half-nekkid newbie wearing some very light armor already has a mitigation of 10.5% at level 8.  So don't read too much into these numbers, as they are only starting points that the game uses to determine the specific numbers for the specific item you hold in your hands. <div></div>
