ok these percents are cool and all.. but how exactly are you supposed to compare tanks now? the number needs to be there as well.

yes, but now there is no correllation between the number value on our armor and the resulting mitigation percentage provided by the accumulation of all our armor. If they intended to change things to only provide a percentage value than the same should be done for every item that can be worn that contributes to mitigation value.

Example:

My beastplate should be telling me it is providing 17.6% of my total 42.7% mitigation rather than telling me it's providing an armor "value" of 211!

no. what i mean is, say you have 2 tanks of different levels.. there's no way to compare percents that are '% at that level' to someone higher level.

Exactly. For example, if you look at say lvl 40 tank and lvl 42 tank in your group....you might see something like this..if they are wearing comparable equipment.

Mob Level 38 40 42 44

% Mit-40 Tank 53% 50% 47% 44%

% Mit-42 Tank 56% 53% 50% 47%

But you just see the same 50% mitigation respective to their levels. If they are wearing similar equipment, then you would want the higher lvl to tank the higher lvl will have higher mitigation.

What makes it tricky is when the lower level is wearing better armor than the higher lvl...in that case comparing is impossible.

Mob Level 38 40 42 44

% Mit-40 Tank 58% 55% 52% 49%

% Mit-42 Tank 56% 53% 50% 47%

In that case, you see lvl 40 with 55% mitigation vs lvl 40 mob. And you have lvl 42 tank with 50% mitigation against lvl 42 mob. You have no idea how these two would compar vs SAME LEVEL mob. These numbers are made up obviously. But its possible that lvl 40 will have higher mitigation than the higher lvl tank...its just that there is no way to know.

One possible way to do this will be to have the devs change it so that everyone gets rated vs. GROUP AVERAGE. Then you can compare everyone on equal terms.
