*Edit* what the? I didnt think I actually posted this. Well I'll fill in my comments.

I know it wasnt gaurenteed in the next patch. I just hope Sony hasnt given up on the overland tweaks to help Soloers have more to do and are more capable of doing quests. I am really hoping Sony will better balance out the content between solo and groups in standard type zones. ((Such as overland content)). This really isnt a complaint. Just letting Sony know that some of us are really looking forward to this change.

Message Edited by ChrisRay on 04-06-2005 06:52 PM

For sure it does I did the access quests at 30 and some of the turtles in EL were still orange on the beach. Great xp and safe. Now only if they would lower everfrost access to 40. instead of 42. ..

Having more solo content doesnt make this game easier. Your still grinding for experience. Just a question of how. I dunno about you but I play early mornings and its hard to get a group. They need to make the game more accessable to others. Sitting around lfg and having nothing to do for hours does not equate to the game being more difficult. It equates to the game being unplayable.

That's why my artisan level is like 10 levels higher than my adventure level.

The devs, through whatever tools they use, found that players in groups frequented the dungeon areas off the overland zones much more often than grouping in the overland zones themselves. The only real purpose groups had to venture into overland zones was to complete quests and take down named mobs. Why not take away this tedium and make a good portion of content in overland zones (where groups rarely roam) available to solo players? Why not make a situation where overland quests are achievable by solo players so they can get a more meaningful play experience and not be limited by having to group? They aren't segregating groups from overland zones, they're simply making them a more attractive hunting zone for the casual and solo crowd. Group will still frequent these zones to achieve the more prestigious quests and to take down powerful named mobs, they just wont have as much content to sit around and camp (tho there will still be quite a bit). There's a good balance that needs to be struck, but i think this is one of SOEs better ideas.

-Aeg

She can't kill group mobs. Her pet simply doesn't have the mitigation to do so, they cut through it like butter on a hot summer's day. This is the main character I play. I enjoy her Because of the changes I have been able to complete quite a few quests in TS that I would have had to wait for the mobs to grey out. It was actually neat to get quest rewards that were useful when I did the quest. I'd love to see this branch off into instances for dungeons too. Not sure how that would work, but last night I went to the Fallen Gate, to complete a bunch of quests with Blacksabath (as most everything had greyed out now). I found the zone was very neat and atmospheric, and it made me sad that she was not able to experience the content when it was experience. All the rewards she got were grey. Yes, I could have grouped way back when and did the quests...but that's just not my playstyle. If I cannot accomplish it as a duo with my husband...I generally don't do the quest. I feel grouping with my husband is still a -group- .

But anyway, I hope these overland changes stay in. I don't think I could go back to the way it was before, can't go from table scraps to full dinner, back to table scraps and still retain your enjoyment for the food. Heh. I do want to say thank you to SOE for having the gumption to do these changes..it took alot of nerve.

Lady Eternity
