View Full Version : The big nasty word: POTIONS

Now that most of the complaining about Alchys has died down, I'd like to remind the devs that two thirds of the alchy recipes are still broke. You added stats to provisioners food but the item that is supposed to have bonuses still doesn't work - potions. I put serious money into making a lvl34 rare potion only to find out that it was grey to me and only regened my power by 54 points. Total - 54 points. I'm a lvl42 necro and 54 points is less that one tick of decent food. For a rare that is sad. And now instead of fixing us they are adding to provisioners - a class largely hailed as the most balanced and never nerfed. Now of course there is the great poison fix - whatever. I just made a lvl35 poison last night that only had 3 charges. They aren't all doubled and I still contend that more charges doesn't increase the demand by much. And even those silly things passing as potions in D-Morte dont work worth a flip. I have yet to hear SOE mention the word potions. So I had to say it. Fix em!

If you would read the Alch forum you would see that Frizznik said they are working on the problem

You are right of course. Potions suck! Not only that, but the only real thing left for an Alchy to do is make fighter apps/adepts, and they don't sell for crap. In fact, I usually give them to guildies to make room for more. The fact that I am a guardian and can make my own skill upgrades is the only reason why I continue to TS. The removal of interdependancy has virtually killed us. I a on the Befallen server and the economy is [Removed for Content] poor for an Alchy. I constantly have to listen to others talk about how poor they are with 2-5 plat in the bank when I can barely keep 1. Now the already overpriced food prices are going to explode and make provisioners ridiculous amounts of money. At this point in EQ2's existance, it appears as though SOE has given up on Alchies in general and is slowly eliminating us from the game. What is on update 7 or 8, Alchemists are being merged with Sages? I posted it here I am sure it is only a matter of time.

I dont consider provisioner food too overpriced. There is some that is. I have a lvl38 provisioner (why buy when you can make cheaper) and subcrafts sell for a rediculus amount. For example a single craft 40 min drink goes for 29s easy on Innothule. So yu but an apple for 3s, water for 6c and fuel - which is 1 tier cheaper for provisioners - for 56cp and make 26s. And at 40 min they have to buy lots. Silly. My big contention though is that why do they get stat bonuses for things that people are already buying when the simple alchy is reduced to poverty with useless items. I craft for the guild. The "promiss" on an unofficial forum doesn't hold water with me. I want someone official just to say the word Potions and admit they killed Alchys.

Actually, they have changed the mix/max levels on potions & poisons, they also buffed poisons, doubled their number of procs. They changed stat boosting potions to 30 minutes, not 3 minutes.

Quite a few changes for Alchemist in this patch actually. Still need work, but definitely signs of hope.

You see, the 200 mastery ones gray out well before scouts reach 50.... Is that the case? If so, bravo! /cheer!

They mentioned the increase of the stat buffing timers on the exact same post you are complaining about. And Moorguard mention on his previouse post in the very same baord about upgrading the postions and the min maxes were gona get fixed.

They should also let us be able to make pattern glass.Ive looked all over for players to make it.No on seams able or cares enough to help me out on anton bayle. Those who do talk to me about pattern glass say its rare. Some say its not rare.Either way.Ive got about 100 potions in my invnetory i cant even make. Why bother

Also since they have put washes that every one can make them. Its hard to sell. You have nurfed us so bad its rediculas. Why not nurf the food industry.Provisionars sell so much, that my guildies who are into food have bought horses. While im sitting here struggling to make ends meat.If im lucky ill sell about 2 to 3 spells a night at 30 silver t3.Just now able to make t4.

Lot of my friends also have quit crafting. You keep nurfing crafting.Every one has basically quit.My one jewlar friend in guild tokugawa wont even craft. Its just sad.You took the fun right out of crafting. Can we go back to the way it was?Only fix our potion bottles so people, will actually buy them. When i first started to craft every one an his brother was into it.Now where lucky we got a handful of crafters on our server.

We go into the crafting channel there are very few of us.An armorsmiths are very rare.Weaponsmiths even rarer.Im not sure how the other servers are doing with crafting.Antono bayle though has fizzled out so much that no one wants to bother crafting.

Well as of right now there is no need for an alchemist so i dont craft anymore, until there is a need for alchemists once again then ill craft. Im not the only one who feels this way and a class should play a role in the game and should be needed otherwise its just a TOTAL waste of time and i honestly dont know why a group of game designers would turn this alchemy class into the most useless class in the planet. Bravo just Brav-fugin-O

Message Edited by Quai Chan Kain on 04-06-2005 08:51 AM
