View Full Version : Oh where oh where have my guildies gone, oh where or where...
<DIV>Can they be? <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Im still hanging on to EQ2 in hopes it becomes the game it should have been from release. Ive noticed over the last month that people are playing less and less and alot have just plain given up. Lots of people, even 2 of my rl buddies, have found a new home with WoW (yuck). Devs you probably wont read this but your next patch coming up is even making more people unhappy. I remember some zones use to have 3 instances, now they are lucky to have 2. My friends that really like wow say they enjoy the way pvp is handled on the non open pvp servers. 2nd is that they actually get pleanty of nice usuable loot drops and coin from mobs. 3rd is that even though there is only a few char models to choose from there is enough variety in diff looking weapons and armor that not many people look the same. My big gripe is that crafted items should be nowhere near as good as raid dropped loot. Make the raid dropped loot no trade. I dont care. It would still give me the drive to go raid. Im hanging on by a thread here as is many others. I want this game to succeed. I dont want to have to find another home. EQL was my home for many years. Ive thought about going back lots of times, Im also looking forward to trying Vanguard. </DIV></DIV>

<DIV>Yeah but WoW has the depth of a neighborhood kiddy pool with 10 kids in it and not enough room for the other 30 waiting to play in it, so you have to watch those poor kids wait in line for hours to get into the pool.</DIV>

<DIV> <DIV>I dont think there is that many fewer players playing since launch, the difference is instead of everyone being in commons, antonica nek and TS everyone is everywhere alot of hihg end zones have 12 ppl or so in them, if you take all the people and throw them in a noob zone you will get your 5-8 instances again</DIV></DIV>

We just took in another 6 players in our guild from another guild. The reason? Their other members stopped playing and they were the only ones left that logged in anymore. I see this in my guild also. What once had 15+ members logging on regularly are down to 8. Its sad to see and I hope they can do something. </DIV>

I'm guessing you've never ever played WoW have you? I didn't think so. Good job on your pointless flame.

<DIV>Actually, yes I did play the game for a good amount of time after release, not even including the several months of beta testing that I had done.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The thing with WoW is that while it can be fun for the first few levels, there's nothing to do in the higher levels... unless you count raiding a single raid-level zone every night as fun. They need a good year of patching before it really will appeal to me. Some popular features missing are: housing, raid-level content, high-level content, and the battlegrounds. Though I know they're working on it, it's just not fast enough for me. The first content patch after release was a few weeks ago. That should say a lot about their development process. Their current gameplay consists of logging in, running quests, logging out. *Maybe* you get some crafting in if you like linear crafting without much challenge or depth. It would also help them if players could actually *LOG IN* to play the game instead of wait in lines of 200+ players for 30-45 minutes waiting to try to play the darn game they pay a monthly fee for.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I played EQ1 for several years but only picked up EQ2 last week after some friends goaded me into playing. I've had more fun playing it in the past week than I did in all of my time playing WoW since beta. Maybe it's because of the nostalgia factor, who knows. We'll have to see. I may say the same things about EQ2 in 6 months.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think it just baffles me that people can come here and pay to play the game, but bash it in comparison to WoW. I mean, if you don't like it, stop paying for it. Just my 2cp.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thank you for your feedback.</DIV><p>Message Edited by OlaeviaTraisharan on <span class=date_text>04-05-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:43 PM</span>
