<DIV>For the offline selling I honestly think it should be increased to more then 24 hours between resets. Currently I dont make a habit of returning to my house every day unless I am selling. If it were more then once a day, maybe every 2 or even a week it would seem better to me. Just my thoughts.</DIV>

Perhaps the more pragmatic solution would be to charge a 'rate' per day listed for each item. That way you could choose to sell for however long you felt you needed to..per item..to move that item in the ecomony on your server. Have the 'listed fee' scale up depending on how many days you chose to list it for.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sue wants to list this sword she found on the market. She projects that she not return to her home for 3 days. She is unsure if the sword will sell, so she lists the sword for the three days she figures she will play. Day one fee: 5cp Day two: 10cp Day three: 15cp (to keep the sword listed) This fee would be payable by the listee at the time of listing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just a thought.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lady Eternity</DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by LadyEternity on <span class=date_text>04-04-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:45 PM</span>

i thought it said you just had to log on in 24 hours, not that you had to go to your house. even if it is its a small inconvenience compared to those of us that share housing.

Me thinks 24h are ok, otherwise the market will be flooded with stuff from inactive players <div></div>
<i>["...You should sale vacation passes so if your going to be gone like a week you c..."]</i> You should be on vacation, so should your game characters <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

I liked the on-line system, you should <EM>at least</EM> have to goto town to report to the broker what you are selling, even if it did not change from your preevious listing.

Agreed. I think you *should* have to report back to your apartment, or a broker to re-list your items for another 24 hours. As an option for those who don't want to report back to the city to check on their sales. Add a broker NPC on the Nek/TS docks who will handle the re-listing 'service' for 25-50sp. Walk up to them, hand them the 'fee', and they will coordinate with the brokers back in the city to make sure your goods stay listed for another 24 hours. If you want your goods to be listed for free for another 24h, you always have the option to use your 'call' spell to report back to the city and re-list your wares.

Well, let's look at the range of possibilities here:1) Current - no selling unless you go back to town, then go AFK while staying online.2) My proposal - you have to go back to town every 24 hours, or pay for the convenience of not doing so if you want to keep goods listed on the market.3) Moorgard's - login, stuff gets listed for another 24 hours.Sure, the way it's currently being implemented is the most convenient (for both the players and the devs). But allows no room for balance adjustments without ending up with a large hue-n-cry by the playerbase.OTOH, with option #2, you have room to play with the numbers. The NPC on the Nek/TS docks could be made more expensive or cheaper over time. You could add additional NPCs in other places (although Nek/TS docks is pretty central). You could add the ability to let those NPCs charge a premium to list your goods on the market for longer periods of time.

SO I can stay out as long as I want with my Necromancer and not worry about going back till I am good and ready. Excellent. <span><blockquote><hr>Potentater wrote:I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing it serves some measure of <em>roleplay--</em>you remember, MMO<u>R</u>PG? <div></div><hr></blockquote>That's the thing, I don't get the roleplaying aspect either. Option 1 (current): I tell the broker: "I'm heading out to the Enchanted Lands. I'm not sure when I'll be back. Please sell the stuff I have available & I'll pay you 20% of the proceeds when I get back" Option 2 (proposed): I tell the broker: "I'm headed out to the Enchanted Lands. I'm not sure when I'll be back. Please sell this stuff...but I'll make sure to come back to you every 24 hours...Oh...instead, I might come back to one of your conveniently placed cronies every 24 hours to let you know that I still want you to sell this stuff. Oh, and if I don't show up, please take that as a sign that I no longer want to sell this stuff and take it off the market...." As to the comment on balancing, they have numerous other ways to balance the game. The control how fast items come into the market, at what price they go out, and what price we pay for the convinience of offline selling. I understand the call for caution, but I don't see adding an additional 10 hours / day of sale time to my character at a 20% cost impacting the market except in a good way.... </span><div></div>
