I'm not sure if this has been pointed out, but when you are doing tradeskill writs or workshop tasks, it asks specifically for shaped items. Now, it's easy to mess up at some point if you zone off (since tradeskilling is mind numbingly boring when dealing with green combines), and you accidently get a Pristine by default. This ruins my count, now I had an odd number of items to make and I'll have extras that will take space in my bank, and it just annoys me. Sometimes I mess up twice JUST to make it even >_>

With the new events, when we want to make a crude, what if we get a new buff that makes it go to quality or pristine? This won't be a good thing at all, it means we got a pristine, but it could easily be a pristine of an item that never sells, like instruments. The only thing we get out of that is having to remake the sub combines and having to NPC sell the pristine. It's a minor issue, I know, and you may think that it is nit picking, but I still think that this should be taken into consideration. Pristine isn't always a good thing...

from what i read there was 1 random critical that casted a buff (could probably be cancelled) and another that did +1000 +1000, giving you the pristine...but BUT it would also grant u a rare raw material for your trade...not too shabby.

Maybe SOE should change the trade skill quests to read and work like this. X item must be shaped or better in quality for the reward. If they did that then all your worries would be meaningless.

That would be awesome

I'm willing to wait for this change though, if it meant bigger problems would be solved quicker.

If you happen to be crafting with a rare that would give you a free rare.

Would be cool if the devs added a little tick box next to each type of combine and you could choose at what level you stop making the item. I know It would be a little easier for me with making crude components.

The rewards for the rare event should be looked at as well. A provisioner is awarded a "rare" root? since when can provisioners use rare roots?

Make it like a quest reward where you can choose which rare you receive!

99% of the crafting I do is for guild writs. I agree that having these event auto a pristine would be a pain in the [Removed for Content]. The best fix I see is for dev to put in what others have suggested. For Tasks/Writs to give credit for quals shaped or better. Just my crafted $0.02--Rannoc

Omg.. I thought that +1000/+1000/free rare thingy was just SoEs way to make an april 1. joke.. Its really gonna happend ???

lol Provs get a Root eh.. worst rare imo.. Well mayeb not o bad now what with dolls and all.. but what about tier 5 armorers/weaponsmiths? Ebon goes for 3p on my server roots 30-50g. Also to the person who said about no ingredients used that's the rare re-action. Extremely rare actually gives you a rare.. Hmm it would be cool if your crafting with a rare and that came up... Very unlikely but would be like having 2 free rares..

A nice feature would be a crafting machine for the home that limits to shaped instead of crude. This would allow for doing the tradeskill writs. Personally, I don't care for the shaped limitations. Perhaps this is one of several reasons that many do not advance their respective societys. Another annoying aspect is examining an item in the recipe book to see only the shaped version.

I can't complain too much though. I am very pleased with many of the recent tradeskill changes. Especially in light of the heavy handed nerfs that were passed on a couple of months ago.

I would like to see carpenters get recipes to craft attuneable tools for harvesting. Make them tiered to the appropriate level (ie. ash handled forester's axe or elm handled forester's axe). Let them provide a bonus to success rate. For example, a slight chance to return a cluster of 2 for a single attempt. Perhaps slightly increase the chance of obtaining a rare. To compensate for the new crafting "drops", perhaps make the overall drop rate the same as before, but balance the drops between harvesting and crafting.

Just replying to the guy above me You can get crafting stations that only make shaped for your home I think you get them at level 10 guild, if not it is level 15
