Can we get a heads up?

<DIV>     Some of the new features in the last patch are great, but I think allot of players would greatly appreciate a little heads up. One of the only coming soons I have seen was mentoring, everthing else is pretty much dumped on a player patch day, unless they have the insight to check the tester update forums then they have about a week before live.  I know it took some time and planning to program mail, and enchantments. Not asking for details, maybe just a coming soon post. Does that sound reasonable?</DIV>

Read the Test Server Update Notes forum.Everything that is patched onto live servers is usually announced there up to 2 weeks in advance (depending on scheduling). Some changes move live immediately, others stay on test for a week or three (or forever).

That is not what I'm talking about. Not just a week before it goes live, and the day it goes to test but more along the lines of "whats to come" or "things in the works". I know they didn't plan and program the new features the day they put them on test. I just thought it would be nice to know what they had in the works, and I think some other players might like that as well. You know...something to look forward to.

    The link was kinda what i was looking for, and I see they post those questions/replies in the network news section here in the forums.  Would be nice if SOE had a section in here of thier own like that instead of being prompted/interviewed by another site.

The link posted was to an IGN site that has a ''unofficial'' FAQ  , I just asked what the relationship was . I never even mentioned IGE and I don't know where you got that , but your jumping to the quick defense of either seems strange . If they have such close communication with DEVs whats the relationship ? It's a simple question not some conspiracy theory . Now that you point out there may be a conspiracy I tend to ponder it . Honestly now that i think about it there may in fact be some shady things going on when a fan site that sells cheats and plat can get communication from devs and the majority of player base that posts real concerns here on SOE's website cannot even get a response tells me something fishy is going on ... so there is your conspiracy thoery you so badly wanted me to make . Happy now ?  If anyone is paranoid about black helicopters and vans I think it is SOE and these companies they appear to involved with that are worried the player base may discover some bad things are going on behind closed doors .

They have an enourmous readership base. They also happen to do reviews of games and sell games. I'm sure SOE does things like this for sites like IGN to help secure 'good' reviews for their product.

Ok , you guys are right . When I clicked the link to the IGN site the first thing listed in the column on the left was ''cheats'' , I saw that and thought ok another cheat site , after looking closer that site does not sell plat and the cheats they had were a joke . Lol the cheats they had listed for everquest were a couple noobie quests in qeynos . IGN is a fan site that has some inside pull with DEVs and IGE is the site that sells plat . Anyway I was wrong . I do want to say this though , the fan site had a lack of information and the plat selling site had tons of good free info so .....

IGN isn't the only fan site SOE deals with either I think they do something with Warcry too? http://eq2.warcry.com/scripts/news/view_news.phtml?site=68&id=43688 It's just helping the fan base, having a fan base is good for SOE so they try and keep us happy through various mediums <div></div>
