<DIV> Any how it be a cool added feature.Dying clothes, every mmorpg has it now, I believe if not most.Just a thaught there, would be nice to have ).So we can be original in our costume design.Make it simple also, sort of like dark age of camelot.</DIV>
Please no after-market dyes... If they want to let crafters change colors of items in the creation process I am fine with that... But willy-nilly after-market dyes are horrible. <div></div>

<div></div><p>Not sure why this thread is in the tester board… seems like it should be under Items and Equipment if you actually want a dev to notice it and consider it… Anyway…</p><p> Dyes are a good and bad thing. EQ1 had them and for the most part for 95% of the people they worked great. Most people just don't want to look like every other person out there. The assassin doesn't want to be wearing green armor - they want black. The Paladin wants shiny silver or gold armor, the SK wants blood red, etc. Or every single person with the Robe of the Invoker doesn't want to look the same.<span> </span>Lot of good reasons to want to change the dye.The problem is the guy that thinks it’s hilarious to have a bright pink suit of armor with neon green boots. While he thinks its great the rest of us have to endure looking at him. Maybe the solution is a variation of /ignore. Such as /ignore dye on a particular person. So when you meet the fellow in the neon green armor you can ignore his dyes and see the default color of that armor. Dunno how else you do it other then severely limiting the dye range of each piece.</p><div></div>

<P>I think this is discussed in the requests forum. People overthere had great ideas to<BR>limit the choice of colors by armour type, they also thought it would be better the<BR>color will be seen in the entire armour set (not varia's of green boots and red leggings and blue chest piece).<BR>They think this can be achieved by having a dye slot in char option.<BR>... searching for the link ...</P> <P>*ding* found it : <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=futexp&message.id=1658" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=futexp&message.id=1658</A><BR></P>

Oboy, pink pallies and lime green SK's again... I could get behind dyes if they limited them to reasonable colors for specific types of armor. Earth tones and muted colors for leathers, metallics for plate (though I guess an argument can be made for just about anything on plate if it's an enamel), non-glossy types for cloth. It's just that every foob out there (and a lot of otherwise normal people) has to pick some totaly stupid-looking neon color because they think it's cool. Maybe to them it is, but the rest of the world may have a different opinion. <div></div>

<DIV>Well it would work well for alchemists.Would bring back my crafting for sure.Have alchemists make them.Just dont think the ac armor looks that great.Nor does my fuligate armor.Think myself it would make the world a bit more colorful.</DIV>

I'd honestly prefer if dyes were not in game.

<P>add dyes for cloth and leather, enamel for chain and plate. add different levels of dye color, from muted earth tones to vibrant royal purples and reds. </P> <P>you should be able to add any color you can afford to buy, to any piece or armor, at any time of your choosing. </P> <P>this is an idea that adds fun to the game, there is no reason to leave this feature out of the game. if you dont' like it, don't color your armor, period.</P> <P> </P>

<DIV>I think dyes would be a great feature. I don't like looking like every other templar or even mistaken for a tank because my armor looks the same as everyone else. Here's a side thought. How bout different wood stains for woodworkers and carpenters. We could make our weapons, shields, and furniture look slightly different. And I agree that those who don't like the idea can simply not use the dyes.</DIV>
It's not as simple as "don't use dyes". Even if I don't use them I still have to see the [Removed for Content] in bright pink. <div></div>
<P>All the equipments are virtually all the same.<BR>Can we at least have something different between each of us. something that would make us feel unique?</P> <P><BR>Oh and for the love of God, Sony, don't screw up this if you implement it. No BS like dye cost 1p, required 50 combinations of rares from some relocated hidden places that you can access only if you have some expansions. We deserve something much better than that.</P>

<DIV>Dyes are definitely a mixed bag. EQ1 became visually annoying after their implementation though I did enjoy changing my look periodically. :smileyhappy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'd prefer we see more unique armor models/textures implemented. It's nice to have your rare master chest dropped armor visually unique and not look the same as joe sixpack who dyed his set.</DIV>

<DIV> <DIV>Having played a druid for five years on Live, I can tell you that I bought Legacy of Ykesha for nothing but the dyes. The extra bank slots didn't hurt, but I would have paid the money solely for the ability to get out of brown armor. Personally, I find mismatched armor currently in the game, such as my little cleric with the rare very light crafted gloves (pretty blue and matching nothing else she wears) to be as visually annoying as bright pink. I like the look of EQ2, I don't mind some limitations.....there are plenty of ways to limit dye color range and still allow a lot of visual variation. As a 30 tailor, I was sad enough that all the ceremonial just for looks armor is status bought. I would pay again for the ability to distinguish my character from all her duplicates. So start with the ability to dye furniture, considering I will never understand how something like a rare oak table matches not a single one of the rare oak chairs in wood tone. I don't really see how the ability to dye your furniture neon green would affect any other player, either, since they'd have to come into your home to be horrified by it. Start the dye experiment there, carpenters get little enough love as it is, this would allow a lot of tweaking prior to implementation of armor dying. And it would allow me to get a nice dining table that might actually match the chairs!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ashlian Liadan</DIV> <DIV>Fury of Mistmoore</DIV></DIV>

This has an easy fix. Make an activatiable dye that is purchased from vendors (maybe with status points) and limit what colors can be purchased. Royal Blues and Purples, Black, Green, Red. The dye would be relatively inexpensive (like 2sp and 100 status points) and last for 12 hours like poisons. This would give those who wanted to look different somewhere to spend their money and status.
Pfft. Freedom of choice. I like the bright pink green leg look. Why should a select few enforce what I do with MY character

i would like to see dyes as well, my idea would be to limit the colors to the ones you can pick for your rags when you are in character creation. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>edit: and enamals</DIV><p>Message Edited by xfbishop on <span class=date_text>03-29-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:18 AM</span>
no please. I like the visual style that has been created. I like that clothing is made with care and has complexity. If you want to give players the ability to dye leather and silk and paint plate and chain then put it in production of the product itself. But for the most part dont add it at all. Most MMOGs are not as well made as EQ2 and they offer dyes because of failing at truly good work. <div></div>
