View Full Version : Possible simple solution to a Mentor problem

The mentor problem that i speak of is having to mess with your hotbars like crazy if you mentor someone say 10 or more levels below you. Because none of your current abilities work, they are unavailable at that lower level. Having to remake 3+ hotbars each time you mentor a buddy is definitly not fun or consistent.

Easy solution: Keep the same limit of hotbars available on your screen(i think that's 10 or something), but allow the user to actually scroll through 100 different hotbar allocations or more. This way a person can have a hotbar setup on say hotbars 90, 91, 93 to mentor their friend- so that when they go to mentor their friend all they have to do is scroll to those hotbars.

If you think the user may scroll through many different hotbars while fighting (and you think this is an imbalance issue), maybe lock the hotbar scroll feature while fighting.

Message Edited by Ayun on 03-22-2005 09:55 PM

Or Simply let us save and load our hotbar setups, very much like in EverQeust (1). A limited number of save slots (Like in EQ1) would be fine by me, to keep this a server-thing. 20 save slots, or even 10 - could and would do the trick. Also please consider, if we're not to get save/load features, to at least give us separate adventuring and tradeskilling hotbars. 10 hotbars would be awesome for my Woodworker for not only could he have all the crafting-buff's out of the Knowledge book, but he could actualy keep some of his favorite recepies at hand. (providing the bug, where the icons will black out but still be there, is found and fixed).

Hell 5 hotbar configuration save slots would be fine... one for each tier...

oooh saving and reloading hotbar configs is just as good

Message Edited by Ayun on 03-23-2005 07:00 AM
