I think it is a surprise at least- I did not see this in patch notes, nor did others.

You can now display them in your house.

It's bittersweet. It almost seems cruel they'd do this after the previous patch just made the sell-to-npc value much higher. I bet lots lost their items before there was a hint this was coming.

Can somebody check to see if mounting a Heritage item reduces status costs?

I just tried SBH and it gave no status reduction.

They shouldn't be allowed to buy them back. The players who were so quick to sell off their heritage items for fast coin so they could buy the ~9p horses should be out of luck. All of those level 20-25 characters with a horse and aren't Paladin/SK popped up quickly when they had the Heritage sell error. Glad I'm not in that guild.

Message Edited by Proudfoot on 03-22-2005 08:11 PM

You sold it, you got the money, end of story.

I sold mine back because I outgrew them or it was something I couldn't use that was taking up bankspace. (I have limited bankspace because of holding 3 tiers of raws and finished product).

What they SHOULD have done was introduce the wall mounting feature before the selling feature....but that would have made too much sence.

only 1 item was bugged (Stein of Moggok) and not that many profitted from that. rest wasn't bugged as far as i know. i like the chance to buy back, i sold my sbh when i got it, no bank space + no use = 20 gold. only after i sold it i learned about mounting coming sometime. no problem i have to pay more now than i got for my sbh.

Test server economy is not a big concern to anyone.B) Players who did it on live for the 10 minutes that people were able to do it were already given back the item they sold. Whether they decided to resell it for the normal price or not has nothing to do with the bug.

I think when you complete a heritage quest it should be liek a lore and legends. you get a item and a trophy to mount.

I for one dont give a crap about my house, im only in there while in merchant mode overnight I'd still take the 60g for the item to vendor rather then hang that crap on my wall.

Returning to the topic, have the devs considered extending this for non Heritage items? For instance Ive got a suit of Silvril plate armour which Ive just begun replacing with Feysteel. However Im loath to sell of the bits that took such effort to require. What Id really like to do is to be able to mount it, to have a suit of armour by the door. Be it weapons or armour etc it would be nice to be able to find a use for them other than selling them off for a pitance to a vendor.

I like the idea of being able to buy them back. I am naturally a pack rat, I liketo save anythingthat has a memory attached to it. I held onto Items I quested for and could not use (even all my lvl 20-25 quested newb armor until I needed that space for my crafting). Made suggestions of ways to display things in ones rooms and watched my storage space fill up. I finally gave in to selling items I couldnt use. What use is the Mask of the Deceiver to a Dark elf? It was the thrill of the hunt for it and I could not display it, I held onto it with my coercer in the hopes of being able tot but needed the storage space so finally sold it, the same with her SBH.

I have all my mastery/lore items on display and love the fact heritages can now have that ability, although a little late, as now I have to pay more than I got for them to get them back so I can hang them (or will be able to). I guess it's back to harvesting my butt off and selling it cheaper (as the trader skillers in my city seem to not be buying any more at my old costs , 2-5c T1, 20-25c T2, 50c-1s T3, 2-5s T4 and 6-12s for T5, I cant even sell the common metals /gems of T5 for 3s now ... it's impossible to buy player made any more, never anything on the market and as for the briarwood strong boxes I use to get for 1-2G , if they are on the market , are now 3-5G, which the only way I can sell the wood to the crafters now is at 1s per piece)

But that is off topic. I like the idea of being able to get back those items to display with my other trophies, just not likeing having to pay more than I sold them for. After all, it's not MY fault SOE took this action so late in the day, I wouldnt have sold them in the 1st place if I was able to hang them.
