<DIV>Hey, this is Xiszor from BB and I read the notes awhile ago at work, then thought of these solutions to the problem which many people will face once the patch goes live; which is not being able to add the new effects on their weapons or armor as they wouldn't be tradable due to attunement.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Solution one!</STRONG></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Introduce something similar to the /respec command, such that it <STRONG>unattunes all <U>FORGED</U> armor and weapons equipped </STRONG>in the 10 slots where the armor, weapons and shields fit in(including ranged). I do not think it will affect the economy much if players can only do this once, as I don't think anyone would waste it on a set they will not be using - the person would be sacrificing the chance to become stronger. However, we only want this to last a certain amount of time so that people will not abuse it and sell their lower tier attuned rares after they reach a higher tier.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><U>Example of what can happen without a lifespan:</U></DIV> <DIV>A level 30 with a full feysteel set can take his time to get to 40, then uses the command so he can sell the armor. which would then be useless to him. As this guy will not need to unattune the more "expensive" set due to the features already implemented, he would be using it for other means, which is to get some coin through selling it overnight as a merchant. This would cause many armorers to lose business as many used rares would start appearing now and then due to the abuse.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><U>WIth a proper lifespan</U>:</DIV> <DIV>Many of the people will not be able to reach the certain level fast enough to unattune the old set and sell it away. There would definitely still be some people able to do this, but the amount of people with feysteel armor is small enough that there will be no large impact on the economy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However, there are cons... </DIV> <DIV>the scenario above only talks about rare armor.. but lets not forget that most have the common Feyiron set, which would definitely spoil the economy.. so maybe, only allow rare forged armor to be unattuned. This would result in tons of whiners but I have no experience so... will let the devs handle this :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For people who are going on a holiday during the timespan of unattunement, I think petitions will do, and its easy to see whether the person will sell the armor for profit or not. Maybe set a criteria like - the person must be within the lower 5 levels of his tier (e.g. 20-25, 30-35) when the petition was submitted.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There's probably alot more to think about but I will not spend too much time on this as i wanna play and cannot wait to tell my friends in game about the news!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Solution 2!</STRONG></DIV> <DIV><STRONG></STRONG> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe better than the last, simply just turn all forged weapons, armor and shields to an unattuned state. Since there will be labels on items(Handcrafted, Treasured, Legendary, Fabled, and Mythical), I assume all have been marked and it should not be too hard to code it.. or maybe im wrong, but this would work since it does not allow people who havent enchanted their armor rush to the level and sell it. However, it cannot be applied on the day of patch as there is not sufficient time for the new recipes to circulate and it would halt alot of adventurers from their daily business, cause they would have to wait until the new books, new stuff to be harvested and made. Also, this may cause the market to be flooded once more, for many people might have kept their old forged sets hoping for something like this to happen and then sell for a nicer price than what the NPCs would offer - i already sold mine to NPCs though and assume many have!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Solution 3!</STRONG></DIV> <P>Just an improvement to the last, but this time, add something like /movelog, that would unattune all equipped armor, weapons and shields after a particular reset/resets. This for one, allows for a "perfect" time for implementation. One thing is that, most people would not be able to rush their levels due to the limited time they have and sell their lower tier armor, thus, saving the economy. Secondly, the people are allowed to prepare for this as they would be equipping the items they want to un-attune before the reset. This way, there would be less unhappy people than what the second solution above would produce and also less of a spoilt market.</P> <P> </P> <P>Ok!! just some suggestions, and  this is my first time doing this. </P> <P>Also, my english may have some problems here and there but... the point should be there!</P> <P>-Xiszor- </P> <DIV>43 zerker</DIV> <DIV>41 smithy<BR></DIV><p>Message Edited by JSlayerX on <span class=date_text>03-17-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:38 PM</span>

<DIV>Or just add a crafting trade window were the Attuned items can be placed and the Crafter can work with them.. Or let crafters make all the preparations and allow the final combine to be done by the Wearer in a special Station.</DIV>

<P>From picking apart at the wording in the test notes -- it looks like enchanting an item will be a whole separate process</P> <P>The easiest and fastest solution would be to unattune all gear -- possibly a one-time unattune command could be given to adventurers</P> <DIV>I have some ebon just waiting for me in my bank for when I hit 40 but I'm probably going to put up with fulginate gear until I can find the best possible enchantments to add to my armor (lots of experimenting on patch day)</DIV><p>Message Edited by Damanexor on <span class=date_text>03-17-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:56 AM</span>

<P>Another fix</P> <DIV>As part of this enhancement feature, they need to add a "prepare for enchantment" option to enchantable gear that is already attuned, but not currently equipped.  When you select this, the item becomes unequipable, but still attuned, and the name says something like "preped for enchantment".  I.e. pristine forged ebon vanguard cuirass, prepped for enchantment. (in programmerease, 1 item is replaced with a different item)  You also recieve an item "core".  I.e. pristine forged ebon vanguard cuirass core.  The core is tradeable, and enchantable just like the pristine forged ebon vanguard cuirass would be.  The artisan can than take that core, enchant it into a "Luminous pristine forged ebon vanguard cuirass core,  and then return it to the adventurer.  The adventure would then activate the core, which would disseapear, and change the "pristine forged ebon vanguard cuirass, prepped for enchantment" into the final "luminous pristine forged ebon vanguard cuirass".</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This would NOT be a short term fix.  Any enchantable pristine item, at any point, would be upgradeable in this fashion.</DIV>
