<DIV>i was very pleased to see all the proclamations about EQ2 being made more solo friendly. I play solo a lot because lots of reasons the main being my jpb which allows me only short periods of time in game.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>After getting taste of the solo instances and the new "solo" content, i am pretty upset. Got my Necro to lvl 23 and half and its getting worse and wors. Since lvl 15 i started having troubles to find challenging solo encounters. I ended killing tw arrowed heroic encounters who were green to me which was fun, i needed to be carefull and the reward was sweet. hitting 20 wasnt bad either, i could solo three, four level higher solo mobs in Nektulos. Now at lvl 23 i cant find anything like that so i am grinding toward next new spell and new level killing hunderds of same or lovel level solo mobs who offer me absolutely no challenge. Other choice is to attack a group of enemies and pray to be able to kill at least one before i have to run. Not much fun either. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know whats the most possible answer to get - gfo play wow. but i dont want to play WoW. I like the deeper system of EQ2, the graphics and i have a guild here (top level guild on Runneye btw). </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What i would like to see as solution would be replacing part of the existing group encounters. There are so many... too many if you ask me. Much more than enough for HC players with perma groups so replacing some of them with solo encounters would hardly hurt anyone. </DIV>

<DIV>I'm more of a group person myself, but may I suggest that you try to explore more areas?</DIV> <DIV>There's plenty of places for a lvl 23 to go:</DIV> <DIV>The Thundering Steppes and Nek are the classic places of course.</DIV> <DIV>The Crypt of Betrayal under Qeynos, for freeporters still accessible via Peat Bog.</DIV> <DIV>Stormhold, I can assure you there's plenty of challenging content in there.</DIV> <DIV><BR>In a couple more levels you can move to the Ruins of Varsoon, or even better try out Enchanted Lands or Zek, the mobs there near the docks are mostly solo ones and vary from level 30 orcs in Zek to lvl 32 Turtles in EL, and plenty more around all the way up to level 37-39.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Eldarios, 26 Warden</DIV> <DIV>Antonia Bayle</DIV>

<DIV>thanks for the pointers, i will try that (was in TS already ni the pirate stash and played a druid fury till lvl 22 in Queynos). Its right that i didnt explore all the zones. Yet i dont think breaking some of the goup mobs into clusters of solo agressive mobs you cna pull one after another would hurt the gameplay for anyone. </DIV>

<DIV>They made it more solo friendly for level 30 and above from what I remember, hopefully they will do it for us 20 somethings soon. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV> 23 is a tough time but it does get better. At 23 a lot of the stuff you are fighting just got a tier tougher. The level 20 green heroic MOBs are much tougher than level 19 green heroic MOBs for instance. I moved to COB for a while at that time and got in a few groups for the dead river in TS. They just added a lot of solo stuff that is right about your level or just below it now though so you should have an easier time of it than I did. I just got over half a level soloing in EL and dinged from 33 to 34 tonight so at a tier above the solo MOBs seem to be pretty well distributed. My relative power to the MOBS in TS seemed to catch up at around 27 if I remember right. So if you get a chance get a group for the Skeletons in TS you will level fast there and maybe get out of the low 20s slump. </DIV>

I agree, the solo instances aren´t the big hit. But the game has become a lot solo friendlier with every live update. Solo mobs finally give good drops that can be used or sold on the broker. There are tons of solo skelletons of various levels around Varsoon in TS lvl 24+. Those like to drop agathe orbs for some nice cash. Enchanted Lands has many solo mobs doable from lvl 27-28 and up. Around Nektropos Castle are 3 Gargoyle Type mobs and 3 Patchwork Men that can be soloed a bit earlier for good XP. From lvl 31+ you can pay a visit to Rivervale, though it´s quiet dangerous there at first. From level 34+ the Feeroth has a good amount of soloable content, but is even a more dangerous place to be roam. But danger=fun, no danger=boredom.<p>Message Edited by Jan Itor on <span class=date_text>03-11-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:40 AM</span>

<DIV>The TS was quite nice yesterday, i was in groupfirst doing heroic crabs in Nek, then moved to TS and soloed the new solo mobs, got three nice drops i actualy could use and two of them i really attuned for my own use as it filled some gaps in my fairly good equipment - shoulders armor and a necklace, both orange to me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the xp was for blue con mobs 0.5% per kill. not sure how it will be for next levels but i decided to try a healer as my guild could use one more in the lower level range so i will be able to solo bit better than with the necro (plate armor and ehals do the trick as far as i know) and will have much better chance to get a group even for short periods of time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I agree on the risk=fun but the risk must be rewarded and must not start to be frustrating. the live updade did some good job on providing solo content (the lot mainly) but the placement of new mobs is not very sensible... it could use some more work which will most probably come in future.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>my point this time is - thank you for the good advices and thumbs up for SOE</DIV>

<DIV>Yes...lvl 23 gets tough to solo as you are fighting lvl 20 mobs now. But there are plenty of spots to find mobs. I bounce between TS and SH. </DIV>
