Enchanters have the potential to solo certain group mobs that others may or may not be able to do in very specific situations.  That is the ONLY advantage enchanters have as far as solo goes.  When it comes to soloing for xp, we're one of the worst solo classes out there due to the unreliability of root and the long period of time it takes to kill a mob without a reliable root as a caster.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As far as whether enchanters are underpowered, if you're comparing to the wiz/warlocks of the world then yes we are massively underpowered, but then again so is pretty much everyone else.  We're closer to priests than mages at higher levels. :/</DIV>

The thing is enchanters can solo high con group mobs, which is usually what you see on quests. Illusionist get a mez that can be cast while running allowing them to mez kite high con group ^^ mobs , a coercer (the other form of enchanter) does not have this ability and will die very fast to even a green con group mob in most cases.</DIV></DIV>
