<DIV>I know the Ranger's pet hawk (Phyn's Hunting Hawk) is not supposed to be used like the Summoner's pet (i.e., no combat attacking and such), but how about using the Ranger's pet a la Beastmaster.  They should be an extension of the Ranger's scouting abilities.   Is it possible to give over some 1st or 3rd person perspective and control of the pet to see thru it's eyes.  Of course the range of this extended scouting capability should be limited (to be determined by the Devs).  And maybe not limit this skill to just the hawk, how about all the ranger's pets including Jeth's Cuddly Companion & Rhyn's Feline Hunter.  Though admittedly, I have only leveled far enough to have the hawk, and don't know if combat capabilities come with the higher level pets.  If they do, don't take it away, just add on the scouting extension skills.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's just a thought, but I would be a neat feature.</DIV>

<DIV>Well while it is a good idea and been posted many times before by assassins and rangers alike it probably won't happen. If they changed the ranger pet thing then they would have to go back and change all the fluff spells/skillz. From seeing how they nerfed pally/sk horses I don't see this happening.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Snipes</DIV>

<DIV>you have to think though...crusader horses still get 10% run boost. i wish they'd make all the fluff spells somewhat useful if they leave any use at all in one of them</DIV>

<DIV>hey how about giving this to summoners instead since pets are our class defining ability and at least for a 25 necro seriously suck at the moment <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>The Ranger pet is an insult.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>not an insult, more a joke really. it sucks that screws up an encounter, but so do summoner pets, and they are the core of our abilities. until your right arm suddenly decides to stop doing damage and sit there like an idiot, don't complain that you don't have a good enough fluff spell</DIV>

And its not like anyone else besides crusaders gets a useful entertainment spell (what the prima guide refers to them as)... Your ranger pets can actually be more useful than the majority of these spells. If you run from a fight your pet will hold the mob off for a few seconds so you can get away. My necro E spell? well, it keeps me from riding a griffon... And it seems to drain power from me like sight enhancers... and thats about it. Doesn't even look that cool, just a plain old dusty skeleton. About what our pets look like, also not very cool.

<DIV>Miral this does not always work, a lot of times the pet wont take aggro, so thats just a luck thing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Landacet~LvL34Ranger</DIV>

<DIV>Why would you post about something as trivial as our fun spell?  Rangers need a lot more then their pet having a use...the cost of being a dps for a ranger is outrageous and thats something the devs need to look at.  Stop nerfing and start fixing!!!</DIV>

<DIV>well, if they would add endless quiver, and it followed suit with eq1... then you would have one arrow, and whatever quality that one arrow was, was the quality that your bow shot, endlessly hehe</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lodoz</DIV>

The Hawk has saved my life a few times. When I break an encounter and try and run for my life the Hawk can't keep up and the mobs start attacking the hawk while I get away!
