<DIV>Not sure if this has been addressed before, but the recipie book stinks! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Here is the thing. I would like to make a spell.. say Uber Lightning Strike of L33tne55 +6.  To make that spell, I need to make some ink. Let me see if I can find that in my book. *spends 5 minutes scrolling through the book and 100 other recipies to find the recipie for the right kind of ink*  Ok, I finally found it! Yay me! Oh snap, to make the ink I need to make some dye. Let me search through my book again for 5 minutes to find the recipie for dye. Oh happy day, I have found it! But to make dye, I need to make regeant.. and so on and so on... Sometimes I almost spend more time looking through my book than I do actually making the item. I have no problem with an item having multiple steps, just the tedium of trying to search through every recipie for the one I am looking for. How about making a search function on the book much like you have on the broker? I could type in "ink" and it would bring up all my recipies that had the word "ink" in them? This thing alone makes be dread crafting as being too much of a chore. </DIV>

<DIV>Better yet, I'd love this:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If I'm looking at an ink recipie description and it calls for a dye, the dye should be a clickable link.  Then add a 'back' button so you can browse through your recipie book like linked web pages. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That would make muddling though the recipie book much easier.  Mabe allow a right-click "open in new window" option as well.</DIV>

<DIV>I think I saw a mod on <A href="http://www.eq2interface.com" target=_blank>www.eq2interface.com</A> that helps you with the recipe book. That site is supported by SOE.</DIV>

<DIV>Oooooh. Good idea Ekeron. Me likie. I really think something needs to be done though. It is so inconvienent and annoying. I don't think crafting needs any more unnecessary anchors to enjoyment. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, "Anchors to Enjoyment" would be a great band name, eh? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>I created some filters via the filters button on the book to cut down on the number of recipes that I have to look through at any given time.  It seems to work pretty well.</DIV>

<DIV>I also use custom filters as a previous poster suggested + you can also sort the filtered or unfiltered list by the recipe name or tier by clicking on the title of the column. I can find any recipe within seconds this way.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

How about a better way to list what recipe scrolls are scribed? I find that a chore myself.

<DIV>How about we could delete reciepes we dont want?</DIV> <DIV>For example, I doubt I'll ever need T1 reciepes anytime soon in next 20 years,</DIV> <DIV>but it just takes tons of place in reciepes window.</DIV> <DIV>Or maybe, if you cant make it deleteble, just allow us to "hide" it from all filters,</DIV> <DIV>like.. some special "hide filter" that will apply to all other filters.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV> <DIV>I was hoping the list of all the volumes to be in alphabetical order... would make it easier to know what you have and don't have.</DIV></DIV> <DIV>What bother me even more is that I can buy volumes or language book that I already know without any warning.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I agree the recipie book could be done better (search function like in broker, links, etc...)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe it will be enhanced....meanwhile:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Drag the items you produce most often to your hotbar (more or less that should cover 80% of the issue)</DIV> <DIV>2. Apply filters</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>don't worry... by the time you have made your 500th ink you will know exactly where everything is... LOL</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think a search function would just not get used to much.  My hot list of changes to the recipe book would be:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) When I'm looking at a recipe I should be able to right click on a sub component and have the option to go to that recipe directly.  This would not work if I was in crafting moe and the sub component was made on a different device.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2) "WHO IS IT FOR"!!!  In the case of spells it would be nice if the spell told me which sub class the spell upgrade is for.  Customers come and say "get me all the spell upgrades for level 21-25 for my guardian".  Now ... how am I meant to know which ones those are?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3) Crafters Con System.  When I'm thinking of making something, or have already made it, I should have a special option to tell the system class/level so I can see what this item would con to a player of that class and level [approximate... I know people may be low on some skills.. or even assume maxed skills for the level].  When you get a tell from a level 28 predator asking what stuff you can make would con as and you are a level 10 cleric .. its a little tricky</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Some form of visual representation of the relationships would really help, say a tree diagram: click on a finished product in your recipie book and it displays each step, greyed out items for ones you're currently unable to produce, highlighted ones for items that you currently have.
