<DIV>Why are the only zones that have griffon towers Commonlands and Antonica? Please add some griffon towers to Thundering Steppes and other large zones. It takes forever to run around Thundering Steppes and other large zones just like it does in Antonica and Commonlands. </DIV>
<DIV>Hmm i would be happy if they fixed the ones they have....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Stop the black screen of death!! (Oldest bug in the game ???)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. Dont promote drunk flying, let the griffins take the straight route to target.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. Get some goggles on the birds so they stop dropping me 20 meters from target to get 600ish dmg on drop.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If they put griffin towers in all big zones its not much of a challenge getting trough em at lower lvls. </DIV> <DIV>I suggest they put in lvl restricted "teleporters" instead.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
Well...There are griffin towers in ant and cl atm, and once you're high enough to not care about 60s, you can just take the boat to where you want to go...If you still care about not spending 60s, then you're just gonna have to run.

<DIV>I don't want to see travel made too easy, especially so early in the game. For me one of the things that ruined EQ1 was the addition of the stones in PoK that allowed you to travel across the world in two minutes. It totally destroyed the feeling of Norrath as a world and made it seem more like what is it, an unordered collection of zones. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would agree with the second poster and say fix the griffons we do have instead of adding more.</DIV>

As I see it, the griffons allow higher level players avoid a tedious run through a very "grey" zone. I would have liked it even better if they had been able to keep the Antonica/TS boat in (or CL/Nek). From a game-world perspective, they are in the immediate territory of the two major cities. Farther out, they would need more maintenance and be more prone to sabotage. Hey, maybe that's why they don't fly straight...enemies have been spiking their drinking water! Seriously though, the quirky flight paths never bothered me. As a noob it helped me get a lay of the land more than a direct flight would have. Now I just consider it a side effect of taming a very wild and independent beast; you put up with the quirks because of their usefulness, and there is only so far you can push the training without risk of becoming griffon kibble.

<DIV>If they didn't want travel to be easy they should've never put mariner bells or griffon towers in any zone period. Since they are there already only makes sense that other large zones have them as well. They could atleast put a griffon tower in TS that'll take you to RoV quickly. Saying not to do it because low levels can get to tough areas is dumb. A level 6 adventurer can get to Zek Or EL if their crafting skill is level 32 or Everfrost if their crafting level is 42. It's not difficult to avoid aggro in those areas either.</DIV>

<DIV>Only lvl 18 at the moment but i am ok with the current situation.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The mariners bells are needed because most people dont have the PC that allows them to zone across a whole city in less than 15 min. and they arent used that much - in qeynos at least most people run through the down below for most zones or ring the bell for antonica and run fron there into N/S qeynos</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But for the sake of high lvl characters there should be some faster travel included: maybe tamed wyrms who fly long distances above the clouds (easier to programm and less lag than with whole continents to fly over). the wyrms could even be controllabe to some degree with encounters possible to ad some risk (or fun<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />) to the reward of fast travel.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SOE could even add a whole gaming element around this: Access quests to use these facilities (The Wyrm Whisperer), quest around this kind of travel (What Happened to Flight 19?)and of course some high mountain regions (Where Eagles Dare) only accessible via wyrms.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Although I am a very casual gamer who levels so slow that he usually gets 1 expansion behind I think high level players deserve some special kind of playground - could be a good for motivation of all players too.</DIV> <P><SPAN class=time_text></SPAN> </P><p>Message Edited by Tradeskill_Addict on <span class=date_text>02-24-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:33 AM</span>

They are the wilds, the badlands. As such, they lack civilized modes of transportation. I doubt they ever will until the monsters there are brought under control.</DIV>
<DIV>As to taking the straight route.....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A lvl 30 dirge is about 10-15 seconds slower than the griffin between two towers in antonica.....thats just not quirky thats a tour/detour....</DIV>

<DIV>I guess I am one of the few that do not mind exploring.. The griphon towers are nice. But keep there were they are. There is no need for more. Ts is not a very large zone, easy to get to the places you need. Hay getting to some of those spots you want to hunt is an adventure in its self with agro and such. </DIV>

<DIV>The Overlord is happy to build more Griffon Towers, and is pleased that you have volunteered the funding to get the project underway.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Proceed to the Overlords palace and give the castelan the 1500pp needed by tomorrow morning.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If for some reason you are not able to get the money to us, we will assume you were joking, but don't ever expect a welcome in Freeport again.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Eh don't care too much about griffon towers (hardly ever use em unless I wanna afk travel), but I would like to have a travel bell in the city zones that don't have em.... you know, north qeynos, north freeport, south qeynos, south freeport, eldaar grove, west freeport... Maybe even put the boats back in that go from ant to TS and CL to Nek....</DIV>

<DIV>I like the griffins, but i also like not making travel too easy, so, i suggest a compromise...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>All of us are familiar with the bridge keep in TS that locks its doors at night, unless you do a quest which allows passage. soooo.. add griffin towers to TS and nek, but require a quest to gain passage on these towers. Perhaps a separate quest for each tower. maybe even a small fee for their use.. 5s?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>as far as the rest of the zones, perhaps add a one way griffon ride.. i.e. you get on the griffon at the EL or zek docks, and the griffon flies you to its drop off point, touches down so you can get off, and flys off again(is it flies or flys?). Kinda like a helo taking soldiers behind enemy lines.. the helo doesnt stay behind, it takes off back to base. again, require a quest for the luxury of using these griffons.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>and as always, improve the dang animations on those griffons.. you know.. hunkering down and launching itself with its legs and some powerful downthrusts of the wings to gain momentum. Gliding the last few hundred feet towards the pad, leaning back and extending its hind legs to absorb the impact, and flaring its wings to brake while landing. And *gasp*, actually banking while making turns, and making gradual turns instead of yawing 90 degrees instantly... some of those maneuvers are just plain impossible! Birds barely even have the ability to yaw <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> (ok that last is just nitpicking)</DIV>

More like Crossroads Station.Perhaps we could take up a collection, capture some elephants and move that station closer to, oh say, perhaps, FREEPORT?!?
