<DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=218333714-23022005>How are you Developers. I currently have a level 48 Berzerker on the server Antonia Bayle. The reason I am writting this post is to give you a game suggestion.</SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=218333714-23022005>The everquest 2 world is pretty huge and while leveling doing either quest or grinding you will always be limit by something with a single character. So here is where i drop my suggestion. The other day I started a Heritage quest that is done on Varsoon. When I was in the final part of the heritage the quest sent me to go and slain varsoon in the Chambers of Immortality. So since I never did the quest to do that access, I am force to do the quest at level 48 with no reward whatsoever either for me or neither guild status points. I heard the quest takes around 2 hours gametime, and it would be pretty unfair to spend that 2 hours gametime with no reward at all, so I can be able to enter the zone and complete the Heritage. So my suggestion SOE should honor to those player that decide not to do an access quest from level 1-35, access to those zone when they reach any level you decide proper. This is not an unfair decision, since those zones are files containing on the CD that was sell to me when I bought the game, and since I've been grinding and playing don't have access to them and it limit my opportunity to do many heritage quest as I schedule my gameflow when I start up the game. My plan on this game was to cap it and then doing quest, and I have been doing so on an extreme consistent manner. But please take in to consideration my suggestion, because I strongly consider this will help the game.</SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=218333714-23022005></SPAN> </DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=218333714-23022005>Note= To posters that will say, then do the quest before you grind xp, I reply to them= You play the game how you want to since you play 14.99 like I do. But do not tell me how should I spend my 14.99 gametime If I respect yours. And make sure I am not saying to eliminate access quest, I am saying to give player the choice to do it or not to do it, since they will have all a max level so people can enter without doing them.</SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=218333714-23022005></SPAN> </DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=218333714-23022005>Cordially</SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=218333714-23022005></SPAN> </DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=218333714-23022005>Philip Gonzalezjr</SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=218333714-23022005><SPAN class=218333714-23022005>Level 48 Berzerker</SPAN></SPAN></DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=218333714-23022005>Antonia Bayle</SPAN></DIV></DIV>

<DIV>Good Post. I've stated in past posts that access quests are way over used in this game. Access quests should be the exception and not the rule. Is it fun to have to do a group quest to access certain parts of the game? Sometimes, maybe, Depends on if you have a regualar group or guild. These quests completely shut out a large majority of players from much of the fun content of the game. SOE really has it's head screwed on wrong to think loading the game with access quests makes the game fun. It doesn't, just make the game feel like work. IMHO the best games are those that are wide open. Limiting factors like required quests just drop the fun factor to zero. People want to be able to choose the quests they do, not have them forced upon them.</DIV>

Though I understand your idea and your desire your post shows an overall problem of us players. We want everything, we want access to everything, we want only top notch equippment, but we don´t want it to be too difficult to be obtained, we want to level fast, we want our class to be the strongest, we want, we want we want. I wish people(in fact they do) sometimes would accept that you cannot have all and everything, even if it´s in a computer game. But that´s a bit ahead of your post, I just had to say it, because you wrote your topic in capital letters to get more attention to your cause, wich was totally unneccessary.

<DIV>Gotta agree with Jan Itor on this one. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Everquest...the never ending .. ...nevermind.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Like you said, you spent 48 levels grinding. Geez. I bet that was fun. And you want retroactive reward for choosing to skip all the content? It is your $14.99 a month - true. You chose your playing style - true. You chose to grind to 48 and skip content - true. That was your choice. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Folks also spend their lives alone, and when they are 50 years old and sitting on their mattresses stuffed with their hard earned weath...well, should they implore a heavenly being to retroactively give them 30 years of happy marriage, two kids, and 3 grand-children? You choose what to do, but choose the opportunity cost of what you do not do too. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Retribution - Befallen</DIV>

Dash of Pepper is dead on right. You want to reward players for grinding to 50 and skipping everything by then granting them access to things others worked hard to get to?Um no. I vote no. I do agree that in some cases access is overused. But, I do not want someone rewarded for skipping content by giving it to them when they reach a magical level.~Eva
Isn't your reward for doing the quest the ability to proceed with the heritage quest? Not like someone else was able to finish the heritage quest without doing the access quest.. Seems like it is part and parcel part of the quest... Not sure why you think you should be able to get out of it...Also not sure who told you it takes two hours to do.. Regardless of when you do it, the reward is the ability to progress with the other quest, if that is your reason for doing it.

<DIV>sure let the racing grinders have their access to low level quest zones without access quests... And let low level people get into higher level zones too while yer at it. No reason for all this level-based limitations... At least access quests make sense in game... How would some captain on a beach know whether i'm level 31 or 32?</DIV>

It is entirely your choice to do them or not. If you want the heritage, do it; if not, skip it. Making everything easy isn't something I want in a game I intend on playing for years. In the end, the choice is already yours and nothing needs to be changed.

You realize that in the FAQ they say that they will NEVER respond to posts addressed to them? The reason? If they did, EVERY post would be addressed to them. Sorry, by addressing the post to the developers, you just insured that they would never read it.

<DIV>The OP's idea is no different than what is already in game for several access quest zones... i.e Enchanted Lands, Zek, Ferrot, etc.. YOu can choose to do the access quests or you can wait tillyou are high enough level and skip the access quests. I see no reason why Chamber of Immortality, Nektropos castle, Cauldron Hollow, Cove of Decay, etc... sould be any different.</DIV>

Lock-bait...I'm not trying to dismiss the ideas presented. Just a friendly warning that if you want to be heard and taken seriously, you need to stick by the forum rules. There is no point presenting an issue and having two strikes against you right off the bat. It's like applying for a job with a resume full of typos - you might be fully qualified for the job, but most employers are going to just drop it in the circular file without looking any further.
