<DIV>This latest patch is at risk of quashing the fun out of what had been a great game.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Background: 5 years in EQ1, Beta for EQ2, Currently Level 28 Warden Main.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Notice all armour must be attuned - hmm doesnt sound like a great new build, oh well attune and AC at or around 2950.</DIV> <DIV>Set off today to polish off a guild writ in COB - everything is grey, Im accompanied by a 31 Lv Monk.</DIV> <DIV>Pull a single level 24 bug to spawn the crypt tempest as none are up</DIV> <DIV>Monk in defensive stance attacks, after alowing a good period for agro cast a single HO chain.</DIV> <DIV>I get agro..nice touch agro on a Waden HO, oh well I will ride it out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>400+ Damage</DIV> <DIV>350+ Damage</DIV> <DIV>wow strange..ok cast subterfuge (lose agro spell) - no effect</DIV> <DIV>250+ Damage</DIV> <DIV>eek nearly dead..cast Wisp (orange lose agro AE spell) - no effect</DIV> <DIV>450+ Damage</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Dead</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>OK lets try that again..Grey Lv 24 Bug</DIV> <DIV>Wait half the fight..bug down in low yellow, no damage from me</DIV> <DIV>Cast Heal, cast single DoT</DIV> <DIV>...same story 4 big hits Im dead</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Scroll back over guild chat, same thing happening all around - and people are logging off in disgust</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Merchants are describing plumeting prices for their wares...players saying that food is not regenerating as it should</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>OK one more try...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Attack grey bug. Wait Loooong time for agro</DIV> <DIV>Cast single HO..</DIV> <DIV>Now we have 3 bugs attacking me, neither Monk nor Warden has an AE effect, bugs are grey, not grouped and not social.</DIV> <DIV>Dead</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Im very sad about this, Ive camped and am off to purchase WoW...this is a majorly bad adjustment in a series of creepingly bad adjustments</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Where is the fun, where is the joy. Fix it please, I cant see people continuing the game if it is going to be like this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>was this a solo HO or a goup one? some of the group HOs have an area effect. If it was solo, send in a /bug for sure.</DIV>

WoW isn't the answer, trust me. It has just as many headaches as EQ2, and the dev's have horrible communication with the playerbase.

<DIV>For those with questions:</DIV> <DIV>- It was a Warden only HO - single target damage.</DIV> <DIV>- Armour for c2900 AC is Combo of Quested (eq Dwarven boots, AQ 6 with some upgraded items and player made bits and jewels basically all orange, few yellow, shield, full buffs including wolf form)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Regardless, at 28 it is plain wrong to to die to Lv 24-5 MoBs within 5 hits, repeatedly.</DIV> <DIV>It is wrong that the anti agro spells failed to mitigate agro, it is wrong that one/ two casts from a druid out of combat range would draw agro from a Monk in full flight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This was a bad patch a very bad patch - the worst Ive seen in over 5 years of EQ'ing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I fully enjoyed WoW, never played it before - feel like a n00b all over again, hope that what ever was done to break the code in EQ2 is fixed because I know I wont be able to play 2 games...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>try it out again tonight. Two suggestions that i've seen on the boards thus far are the first time you log on, after attuning your equipment, remove and put it back on. Either that or log out and log back in after attuning. There's an obvious bug somewhere that isn't applying attuned armor correctly until some action (I've been trying to pinpoint it) happens. Happened to me and a few guildies last night... logged on, got smacked around by solo greens (w/ attuned items). Gained the skill pts back in hopes that would help, but it didnt. Logged off and back on 45 minutes later, and everything is as it was pre-patch. I can now easily solo greens and easy con mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's definitely a bug somewhere... hope things work out for ya and we can keep you in the EQ community.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Aeg</DIV>

<DIV>Are you sure you did not get the bug where things un-attune after you zone?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Another thing to realize is that the bugs were only grey to you because the monk was a higher level. At your level the owlbears in Nek were doing the same thing to me. I could not self heal fast enough to stay alive. We do very bad with multiple green fighter or scout mobs beating on us. A single griffon or something similar would give you no problems.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The monk needs to check his gear too. He may not have his weapons attuned. If he was missing his hits that would explain the agro.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I simply logged out and back in and things were fine. I have no idea <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> just hope that players dont get too frustrated if they do run into this. lord knows i'm a patient person, and it even peeved me to see what a green solo mob was doing to me.</P> <P>-Aeg<BR></P>

<DIV>Interesting think 24 MoB Vs me at 28 must be boarderline grey/ green. In any case I do have to be able to take more than 4-5 hits from full HP, have been in the zone just a few times before <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> - but yes Monk at 31 would have brought down the con.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Actually did the attuning inside CoB so there was no zone between attuning everything and death - made certain to check my AC was where it should be before I got into things. Checked it in disbelief after dying the first time too !</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yes the monk had attuned all his stuff, certain of that he was a guildie and friend and had a few words to say about the 10GP fighting batons (think thats what he called them) that we now vendor trash.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Again thanks for the positive ideas and thoughts !</DIV>

<DIV>Lvl 24 bugs will still aggro you in that group since you group average is 29.5 (28+31.5/2)=29.5 which is within 5 levels of the bugs so they will still aggro. Thats how you got the adds on the one attempt. Also, those bugs barrage which does a ton of damage to everyone close. Move away from the fight or get behind the mob. With the changes in spells etc the bugs may be barraging more.</DIV>

<DIV>meant 28+31/2 not 31.5</DIV>
