Just curious if the whole "subcomponents" patch change now includes Sages being able to make their own T3, T4, T5 inks?

Ok, so im left to sell those skills that dont allready drop as adept1 around the world.Making every other crafter class and thats not only sages beeing able to make their ink is fine as long as Alchemists get something else todo.

<DIV>Alchemists can make poisons for scouts and skill upgrades for fighters.  Still plenty to do, just in final product more so than components to other crafters.</DIV>

<DIV>Give the Alchemists something else to do? As far as I can reckon, an alchemist is now a chemical Sage. You wont need to toil over inks, wort's (wash/oil/resin/temper)... you have plenty to do... Essence and *gasp* potions/poisons! Have no fear, an alchemist will now be able to make their own vials... so that's a nice addition, yeah?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Welcome to the realm of the Sage and virtually every other artisan out there! Your crafted goods are shadowed by drops off mobs! </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My biggest questions are:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Will inks made prior to this patch be the same ink that will be used after this patch as a Sage?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. Will the combines be the same to make ink? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. Will resin/oil/wash be accessible to a Sage so that he/she can make their own quills/paper as well?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4. And last, but certainly by no means least,  will a Sage have an equal chance to make pristine ink as an alchemist currently does?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These tidbits will help decide if even bothering with ink on the market now is worth buying or holding on to for very long.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That is all.</DIV>

Well regardless of the Tier it takes roughly an hour to make 1 stack of Pristine Ink. You sages are welcome to take that extra hour from me. I think I'm going to go adventure now...You artisans who think that Potions and Poisons are great need to take into consideration that up to now people in game have beein Xping/Questing/Raiding just fine WITHOUT our potions and poisons. Where is the sudden drive to go out and buy these going to come from? There is NO market for them, and the only feasible market I do see would be soloers and rich adventurers who have 50s-1g to blow on 1 potion that gives then a 3 point damage shield for 30 seconds... Woodworkers got all the really usefull totums.

There will still be a market for these products. I know on my server people are willing to pay up to 20s each for Pristine Iron Gual ink because it's a pain in the [Removed for Content] to make.Regards,Izzy

<DIV>Thankyou SOE, now I dont have to make inks for people!!! Now everyone will know the what a pain in the [FaarNerfed!] it is to make inks.  You will all problay ask to revert since its to much for you all to handle anyway.  Really no one wants to make inks, you will all feel the pain soon.</DIV>

Thats going outside the role playing aspect of the game.

<DIV>There are differnt ways to make money, believe me when I say I didn't make an alchemist to be a slave labor for sages etc..inks are now a thing of the past you wanted them they gave them to you thank god never wanted them anyway it was a pain in the [FaarNerfed!].</DIV>

I have mixed feelings about this. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I won't feel so obliged to spend my time crafting WORTs and inks for guildies and for sale so people can do their crafting, but I'll miss the position at the base of the economy. Oh well, I guess I'll focus on making fighter apps. Makes not much difference to me. It sure would be nice to have potions be more useful, but the fact is that if you increase their value enough to be useful to everyone, then Alchemy will become even the most important profession by far. Plus, I picture junkies wandering all over the landscape guzzling potions, empty bottles littering the ground like oxygen bottles on Everest.I doubt this will be the very last change to tradeskilling. I'm intrigued to see where it goes.

<DIV>I never understand this... but let me make sure to remind folks who think that a Sage doesn't know what is involved in making inks. Most of us (myself included) created ink for 20 levels before being cut off from the process. I know fully well what's involved with ink. As a person who runs a Sage and knowing the p.i.t.a. it is to make, I always felt horrid for asking someone for the stacks of inks I needed. Now, I feel a lot better for Alchemists... they can have their sanity back that they charged a good premium for. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Poisons/Potions are a huge industry. If there are bugs, and I know there are, they will be fixed. Don't think for one second that SoE hasn't taken these things into consideration. Alchemists are not only a liquid Sage, but they can also have these  liquid products. I don't feel bad in the slightest for them. So you don't get to control the economy base with your base components WROT... so what? Less time you have to spend grinding out little to no exp and you can focus solely on your own craft. You should be thankful, not [Removed for Content] over these changes. Your time just got better!! (2)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On one last note... I've heard complainst about the Tier 5 prices for player crafter goods will be absurd. Don't you think Sony has taken that into consideration? I know *many* T5 adventurers... and they can *easily* make 20-50g a day of of mob body drops and resell to a vendor... don't let them fool you into believing they're broke. It's simply not the case. They may have to focus on going for better targets... they may have to sell some of the items that were being handed over for nothing... such is life. If you have bills, you do what it takes to pay them. Such should be the way of life for an adventurer and an artisan. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
