In my case I'm running a popup blocker and it was closing the error message window. After disabling the blocker I saw the error message about color depth must be 32 bit to run EQ2. Setting the color depth to 32 bit fixed this for me, for some reason windows reset my color depth to 16 bit a couple days later causing this error again. Hope your problem is as simple to fix.

<DIV>Same problem here and I know of at least one other person as well. I'll check the color depth when I get home.</DIV>

Yeah I didn't see any reason for windows to change my mode but I couldn't be sure since I was at work. I guess something in the last patch doesn't like certain machines (or video cards?)

<DIV>I had the same problem, I rebooted and it was still there, I launched swg and played that for a bit and then went back to try EQ2. I no longer had the issue. Not sure what exactly fixed it.... may not have anything to do with each other</DIV>

<DIV>I have been getting this off and on for about 2 weeks. I havent been able to figrue out what causes it. Most of the time a reboot fixes it but not aways.</DIV>

Deleted the entire /TestServer/ directory, redownloaded, recopied, redownloaded and can now connect.Strange. Wonder if its related to the new patch they did today.

It doesn't seem weird to me except that I can still play on the live servers fine. Its something with that patch on the 9th.

I just wiped my test directory and re-downloaded everything. Same result. Still can't log in to Test.I hope they figure this one out before this patch goes to the live servers. I'm going to be a tad upset if I can't play at all.-Pravus

<DIV>Add me to the list of people. In my case, I have also had several unexpected crashes to the desktop while playing on live servers in the last 24 hours (don't know if it's related but figured I should mention it in case). Test client crashes shortly after hitting the "PLAY" button. Have tried deleting the TestEQ2.exe file, same thing. Reboot also didn't work. I am running my video card at 32 bit (nVidia 5500). My husband's computer seems to load it with no problem. Going to try deleting and re-copying the test directory to see if it helps.</DIV>
Also crashing after patching.
