Poison/Potion charges ?

I'm going to start my TC char today, and head towards alchemist (although it's gonna be very slow in progression).I was wondering if any of the TC alchemists had tried making any potions or poisons to see how many charges you get.The reason I'm asking, is that if a potion or poison still costs 7-10 times the cost of an NPC one just to make, and only gives say 1-4 charges, then they are still utterly useless :oI'm aiming to get to 8 or 9 today, so I should be able to test some low level stuff with luck.
