View Full Version : Eaten alive

Was fighting one of those rumbler type things in Commonlands other day, and took a few screens as I seemed to be stood in the right spot to dissappear into its jaws every time it attacked. I liked this one though because of the way he's cowering lol, I tried to think of a witty caption but hey.

With a picture like that who needs a caption? This is one of the best I have seen in a long time.

Very nice. It's nice when your positioned just right and the mobs do what they were designed to do. lol

Did you blur this picture or edit it somehow? The graphics look really nice....too nice. :smileyindifferent:

Message Edited by Irras on 01-29-2007 08:56 AM

LOL great job on the shot

Cool, thanks, glad you like it. It made me laugh when I was playing which is why I took the shot. Irras, it has been lightened slightly as the original was quite dark, but I run on a pretty high end Quad SLI system so the graphics do turn out pretty good! :-p

A very nice screenshot.I jsut asked in another thread whether the blur was in-game or had been achieved through other means ... there are a number of things that can give that effect ... the msot common being simply when you compress a large image down to a smaller size using a filtering like bicubic ... it inherently adds a blur ...But others ... if anti-aliasing were enabled with bloom effect ...Or if you turn down the graphic and lighting resolution a tad to something like .900 in Performance options and keep all textures on High or better ...Or. You jsut have a very nice setup.

Hi, I played with the contrast on this which can sometimes "soften" it, there is a setting somehwere alongside the many others on the nvidia panel that really blurs things in the distance and they kind of sharpen when u get nearer - it looks really nice.

Thanks.

Hi!I have been playing with the settings trying to recreate it, I *think* it might be the anisotropic and AA, turned up to max, but not sure. The effect in eq2 is extremely subtle (as lately I have been playing VG and the distance blurring is very profound). There are so many settings and different combinations of nvidia settings and game settings, and some combinations cause big probs and I have to reinstall the drivers, if I figure it out I will post. I only just last night managed to get atmospheric bloom looking right with a smooth halo around light sources etc instead of a great big shimmering one lol, and I have no idea how
