View Full Version : Plug-in Questions

I have been experimenting around with Paint Shop Pro for a bit and i'm deffinately getting the hang of using effects. However I wanted to know a bit more about plug-ins for PSP and what are considered "Safe Sites" to DL pluggins from. Also how can I create new "Textures" for the Texture Effect that is in the Effects tab area?

Try http://www.alienskin.com/ for their Eye Candy plug ins, you cant go wrong with those.

Also you can go here: http://www.adobe.com/products/plugins/photoshop/

Most of the good plug-ins will cost you some money, unless you know the "other" ways to acquire them.

Hope this helps a lil. Good luck and have fun!

Message Edited by FelthLightbringer on 11-10-2006 08:50 PM

I'm a bit short on cash so i'll have to check out the free-ware versions. As for my other question you have any idea how to make "Textures" for the Texture Effect under the Effects tab or does that fall under plugins?

I don't typically use that textures effect feature in Paintshop..I have all of the EyeCandy stuff so that's typically what I use.

For example. The below pic is untouched:

And then 2-3 minutes using 2 different EyeCandy Filters:

Wow would I get access to the freeware versions of some plug ins?

I have been experimenting with the Textured effects and have produced some interesting results. One result i'm a bit proud of is this Painting esk feel for this picture bellow:

I basically created a yellow boarder around the picture used the "Magic Wand" function on that boarder and used the "Wood Grain" texture modifying it to make the nice edge. I then used the Magic wand inside the main picture area using a "Canvas" texture to give it the painting feel.

The EyeCandy effect at first it's hard to spot but after I managed to compare the two it deffinatley looks promising. I really like how it adds a "Comet" effect to the particles in the top left area giving a "Mana/Magical" feel about it. :smileywink:
