I suppose I could just say "It's pretty" and just let it go but .. *sigh* .. I never can ..

Over all Assessment = Good definition!

A few random thoughts from me ..

Did you do the textures or were they presets?

If they were modeled by you ..

excellect work on the illusion of Wool for the dress & good job on the use of the Sueded leather inter-mixed with Hard coated leather.

You did a very good job on the backdrop

Use of the (5) flowers/bushes textures for the foreground is the prefect choice to help manuver the eye.

The use of the Dragon or Drakota (can't tell which) helps to define the sky backdrop.

The use of 3qrtr view for your character helps to provide a sense of retrospective

The implied movement of hair / dress was done very well.

I can almost feel gentle breeze and smell the newly awaken flowers..

Did you create the outfit design?

Either/or it is a very believable outfit in both proportions / use and still provides a fantasy feel.

The over-all scale of the picture was nicely done

The Flowers in the foreground

The use of the 2 castles to provide the sense of depth in the middle ground

And the flying lizard in the sky provide a nice balance

The addition of the ivory hunting/eating knife makes for a good focal point on your character.

The use of the varying size mountains/hills and the use of the lightening of contrast as they flow off to the horizon line is nearly perfect.

Arguments:

The staff she is carrying

color wise it tends to fade into the background

what is that on the tip? It actually looks like an artist's paintbrush ..

Since she is a fury; a darker staff with dark flames might have been more appropriate.

Size Definintion for your character isn't visible

Since you are saying this is a gnome size definition is very important and lacking, here.

the viewer has to take your word for the fact she is a gnome.

Perception wise

I would almost think either the 1st castle needed to be shrunk just a bit,

the sky needed to be cropped

or something needed to be flowing over the corner with the tip of her staff in the sky.

Feet or lack of .. no hint of what kind of shoes she is wearing; they are just after thoughts.

The pouch. While I like it and it adds a sense of realism; it blends into the Sueded Over skirt.

I had originally thought it was a belt buckle till I viewed it magnified.

I agree its very beautiful love some of the details and the shadows very well done....but also agree about the size thing, Id have no idea she was a gnome other then from the title, but beautiful either way :smileyvery-happy:

very very nice

the only thing is sence she is so well preportioned its hard to tell she is a gnome due to nothing nearby to suggest size.

I absolutely love the chest piece :smileyhappy:

gnome? looks like half-elf to me i remember poser, [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] i had fun making ugly babies with zombie animations!

Wow KerowynnKaotic, in the 4,5 years I have this hobby I never got such a wonderful and constructive comment on my work. Thank you very much for that. Although this is nothing more then a hobby for me I enjoy it and am always trying to improve. Therefor it is great to get some useful information.

In answer to some of your question and remarks:

I did not create the textures myself, I do sometimes make textures, but the last year and a half I have had not much time so I tend to skip anything like texture making which is time consuming. I usualy start out in poser where I chose which figure I'll be working with. The one here is called Aiko 3. I then work with morphs on the body and face till I am happy with it. Body textures I can not make myself so I use one that I bought. I then put some clothes on the girl. I can model a bit myself, but making clothes + morphs * making it all poser ready is not something I do. First of all it is again time consuming, and second, I am not that goof at 3D modeling that I would be able to make decent clothing. In this case (again to safe some time) I used textures that came with the clothes. I then added the staff and posed the girl. Then I go into Vue for the process that takes most of the time. I start with a basic atmosphere and then start to build the landscape on which the girl will stand. I then add her to Vue. Then I work on the foreground, then the background (with dragon) and lighting. Many many test renders and hours later I end up with the final result. I usualy work on it for 4 to 5 days, and every day several hours.

The staff: I have not thought of the fact a furys staff needs to be dark so I did not try for that. Not sure why it needs to be but I can see your point about blending in to much with the rest. I might try to make some better textures for it.

Size definition: yes, you are completely right about that. I must admit that I started out with the idea of making sure it woudl be visible she is small. I thought the plants could help with that. In the end I realised that what looked okay to me would not neceserly give others the feeling that she is small. I could not think of anything else to help me with it since it was as good as finished at that time. I also did not wanted to add a second person so I left it like it is. If anyone has any suggestions hwo to fix this problem though I am happy to hear it.

Perception wise: I had thought at first to add a tree next to her that would have some branches in the upper left part of the render, I didn't get to it as it added again to the size of the file and my computer started to have a bit of trouble with it. Sometimes if files are to big Vue has problems rendering it. I don't know if this is what you ment with that remark. If so I can always try to add it anyway.

Feet: do you mean that because the dark texture you can't see her feet properly? I ofcourse know exactly where her feet are so it is difficult to catch such problems for me.

The pouch: yes you are right. The textures came out a lot darker in Vue then they where in poser. I will try to find time to make my own textures, or perhaps try to make these lighter of color.

Like I said, thank you so much. You sound like you know what you talk about. Are you a photographer or other kind of artist perhaps?

Okay long post going to post this and then answer to the rest of the comments I got in the next post.

Suite, thank you very much. I like your work too. Hopefully you'll show us more.

Wolfyette, thank you also. You're right about the size thingy.

Feawin, thank you also, lol. I love the chest piece too. There is actualy one part of the outfit I left out, a shawl drapped over the right shoulder. I thought the outfit just fits better this way. The person who made the outfit is actualy very very talented with making clothes for this figure into poser. Luckily there are such people.

Hackz, lol, she don't got the ears of a half elf, but then again, you haven't seen her ears have you? Thanks for commenting.

Yamoran, *waves back* hey there, thank you very much for also adding your thoughts to this thread. I really appreciate it.
