Well since my good computer pooped out on me earlier today and I couldn't play anything.. I decided to whip this puppy up.

The robe is just hideous... I totally suck at design and I'm too lazy to go back and change anything.... but I think the rest came out decent :smileyvery-happy: heh

the hair looks amazing really, nice detail, but it looks like you have used to much smudge on the rest, it makes it look kinda plastic

*gasps* But I like my smudge tool! heh

It looks too plastic b/c it's all too smooth? Yeah..texture really isn't one of my strongest points heh.

You should try to avoid smudge tool and blur tool. I know it's tempting but if you want to smooth out something try using a BIG brush at something like 10% and sample the colour and paint. also avoid dodge and burn tool, if you want to lighten, paint with lighter colour and so on :smileywink:

I use a really old Adobe program called

Adobe Photodeluxe 2.0..... it doesn't have burn and it doesn't let you set the smudge tool to whatever you want.

It's pretty basic stuff and I love it b/c it doesn't have alot of that extra junk newer programs have that I'd never use

Anywho.... even though I'm not great with texturing.. and I admit that I do go overboard with smudging sometimes...I actually did want her to come out smooth.

I'm not a total smudgeaholic though! No really... I'm not *shifty eyes*

You really should get Painter and a graphic tablet (if you don't have it yet). I would love to see what you would do with those. Great work on this one, especialy because you use such an old program. Hmm, do you have a tablet or did you do this with a mouse?

I've seen alot of amazing artwork done with it in Elfwood and that is definetly one new program I would love to use.

I have an Elfwood gallery you can checkout.. heh It has old pics and some newer ones. I swear not all of them are smudgefests

Gee look what you did to me.. got me all selfconscious about my smudging ways... *sniffles*......

:smileywink: heh

http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/l/i/lisaeakin/

I have a fanart section too so check that out if ya want

Ack, yes you do need a wacom Hackz. I got one, and am happy with it. Now a days I do minimal postwork on my work though, so I don't use it as much as I used too. Perhaps if I find more time again next year or so I'll be using it a lot more again.

Oh and Pallaton, I checked your gallery, you got some really nice work in there. I wish I could paint that good.

Message Edited by Rynn19 on 01-12-200601:22 PM
