Some of the stuff was apparently TOO detailed for this new Graphics engine and they took a bunch of the nicer looking stuff out to speed up the game...

I see a fairy in there as well.  It reminds me of Jaggedpine Forest, which is technically part of Zek. . .so maybe some early version of Zek/Jaggedpine?  It would have been cool had they included more of Jaggedpine. . .a forest that you can actually see in, unlike Nek.

That was one of the screens used to promote the game waaaaay before it was launched. It was probably just to show off what the graphics engine was capable of - probably is capable of screens like that with a 1gb graphics card or something down that line.
