<DIV>My name is Gnoda, a 50 gnomish monk on the AB server.  Most people craft or quest in their spare time, but I have opted to climbing things and jumping off of them.  Here are some pictures of a few of the things I've climbed.  Note:  I will not reveal my secrets :smileywink: and if it doesn't require jumping, it's not real climbing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000086.jpg"></DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000085.jpg"></DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000082.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000083.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I will try to post some more tomorrow, but feel free to share your own.</DIV>

Heh, my computer can barely handle that.  I turned up to high resolution just for the pictures.  Would have to turn it way down just to get to next spot.  The last picture I took, in East FP, caused EQ2 to run out of memory and crash the first time I tried it.  Had to try again by zooming in to a small area and then very slowly zooming out to get the view.  Was getting maybe 3 FPS at most while at high res in city zones.

<DIV>Fun and bugs in Qeynos!  Here are some pictures of South Qeynos and Qeynos Harbor from the heights.  These climbs were all very difficult, and the roofs are NOT made to walk on.  I fell through the world no fewer than 8 times trying to find ways to walk on some of the roofs.  Half the time I would just randomly fall through.  The very last picture (with the clock in QH) was by far the hardest.  I ended up pulling off the trick by mere coincidence after 20 tries without hitting the right spot.  The ones in QH are not at the highest quality, since I crashed twice trying to up the graphics near the harbor area itself.  Enjoy!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000089.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000088.jpg"></DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000090.jpg"></DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000091.jpg"></DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000092.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I will probably not have a chance to post any more till Sunday, assuming I can find more to climb. :smileywink:</DIV>

<DIV>Climbing used to be a LOT easier with the lagjump. That was so much fun. Now that they fixed that, I'd love to see how you're accomplishing this. I've done some climbing myself, usually in Castleview Hamlet when I'm bored, but I'd really like to get some tips.</DIV>

<DIV>Here are some few pointers without revealing anything directly:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1.  Some things aren't as solid as they look.</DIV> <DIV>2.  Just because it looks like you can't walk on it doesn't mean you can't.</DIV> <DIV>3.  Air can be as solid as rock sometimes.</DIV> <DIV>4.  Roofs of Qeynos have many holes in them. :smileyvery-happy:  After taking the last picture, I was walking along the big wall that divides QH.  Unfortunately couldn't get on the big round building or bank near Elddar zone line, and when I tried to walk on the part of the wall that headed towards the dock, I fell through.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I tried climbing around some in Castleview, but did not accomplish anything worth noting.  Now that I have some new tricks, I may try again.  A bit hesitant about the villages, though, since I got stuck twice in Nettleview.  Oh, and the buildings in Willow Wood all seem to have invisible walls on top of them.</DIV>

<DIV>Does anyone have any ideas of more things to climb?  I think it's safe to say Baubleshire, South Qeynos, and Qeynos Harbor are thoroughly explored.  I've spent a lot of time in Willow Wood and Castleview with no success.  Also done a lot in North Qeynos, but not so much I'd rule it out.  I may log one of my evil characters to do more in Freeport, though none of them have safe all.  Throwing out any suggestions, such as the giant cliffs in Commonlands near Nektulos (though there doesn't seem to be a way up those) would be a help.  Will try to post more tomorrow when I have access to my own computer again.</DIV>

<font color="#ffccff"><font size="2">I would love to know if it is possible to get up where those giant (not attackable?) wolf NPC's are guarding the enterance to Permafrost. Know the ones I am talking about? Right after you zone in, threw the small tunnle, then across the bridge type thing with the wisps below and the two coloms with the wolves there. Seems like that whole zone might have some very interesting climbing. Possibly the Forest ruins as well, getting ontop of the center structure. Fallen gate maybe, market place 2 area? Hmm.. Windstalker's Village, on top of the mill? That's all I can think of right now. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </font></font><div></div>

<DIV>Nice pictures, though the ones from FP discourage me to even bother trying in the villages.  I will probably try some more within the city zones.  About Permafrost, I would try (and have some when a rare opportunity presented itself), but I am a monk so have no way of invising.  I will explore to my heart's content once DoF allows me to gray the zone out, but until then, no experiments in there.  Same goes with SE.  Also, I will testify that none of the pictures I have submitted require any more than sprinting at most.  No jboots, no mount, now speed buffs.  I have encountered several jumps now that I think I could make if I had SoW or especially a bard's speed buff.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I only got two pictures tonight in Nettleville.  I just had to see for myself on how to do it.  After that, I went to Starcrest, Graystone, Forest Ruins, and then Winstalker.  Unfortunately, after dozens of very narrow misses in Starcrest, my computer was lagging and I was at the last of my patience.  The very narrow misses in Graystone did not help.  I think I might be able to do either with enough speed buffs.  Forest Ruins I did not see really any possible way, but I was also impatient by then.  In Windstalker, I could easily get on any building but the waterwheel one, either by jumping or, in the case of the two story one, falling on top.  I tried jumping from Holly Windstalker's Grave to on top of the waterwheel building, but missed by a fair margin.  Will have more patience tomorrow and will try to get some more. :smileyindifferent:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000093.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/n2185/EQ2_000094.jpg"></DIV>

<DIV>Well, since you've managed to get up there, I will go ahead and tell you that the edges of buildings are usually safest.  Some buildings seem completely solid and then others seem full of holes.  I fell through in QH no fewer than 6 times trying to figure out paths.</DIV>

I'm impressed you got one in Freeport and Qeynos.  Tight. Although some of those are easier than they look, a lot look like a real chalange. -Geo <div></div>
