I'm a true Freeportian I played some months at release and I've come back to play again now, and having had characters on both sides I just feel FP is "home". Seeing how there's alot of players complaining about its visual style I thought I'd just advertise some of its better moments with a few shots I took.Part of the dislikers' comments are all the grey tones and lack of life, but the way I see it that's part of the athmosphere. Freeports feels like something of a cross between large dark age settlement and urban city with a cold, hostile enviroment and the visuals come alive with the light effects as opposed to just bright paintjobs and persiennas.I'm sorry, but without photoshop I felt the tools available to me for resizing compromised too much detail so I'm sticking to how they were.Sunset at West FreeportView from North FreeportEast Freeport trade areaplaceSouth Freeport harbourSouth Freeport alleyNorth Freeport. outside the innNorth Freeport by night
Message Edited by AranStormah on 08-22-2005 09:25 PM

I can't disagree there.. the districts are very bland to the point where their gettho-status can't quite defend it. Particularly in Big Bend and Temple Street you'd expect inhabitants to put up all kinds of multicoloured crap on the buildings just because trolls are like that and ratongas builds nests (common known fact, obviously ).But for the main city itself it has its moments. The guard in the picture was walking casually, trailing behind the rest of her group, but as I hit printscreen key she'd suddenly decided to take a jog infront of the camera. Lensewhore.

The designers in this game did an amazing job in both Qeynos and Freeport, as well as the rest of the game for that matter.
