<DIV>During the past couple of months, I have been recording different footage from all over the game, taking place during most encounters and events from the world of Norrath together with my guild. All in all it ended up with around 60gb of footage on my HD, which now, together with some music and screenshots, has been transformed into a 126mb movie.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My guild, Cadre, reached level 30 the other day(first on Toxxulia server), and it was to celebrate that, that on the same day, we released the video. If you would like to drop in and say Grats, please do so here, <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=114&message.id=9593" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=114&message.id=9593</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I also felt that I wanted to show the movie, especially since there doesn't seem to be that many EQ2 movies out there, and aswell, I wanted more people, then those from our server to see it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. So I would hope this would be the best place to put the thread. I hope you will all come to enjoy the movie, and get a view of our wonderful guild, was alot of hard work involved.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On a side note, this was my first movie.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Movie(right click, save as)<BR><A href="http://www.forstasidan.se/Cadre.wmv" target=_blank>http://www.forstasidan.se/Cadre.wmv</A><A href="http://www.forstasidan.se/Cadre.wmv" target=_blank></A></DIV>

<div></div>Great, video.  Nice to see one make use of the higher end zones for a change. If you don't mind my asking; what's the first song on the movie?  I think it starts at around 10 seconds in, during a pan of Zek.  I know I've heard it many times before but I can't remember where, and if it's related with the series or from another. Thanks. Edit: Doh, just reached the credits.  Nevermind. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Drakkonan on <span class=date_text>07-12-2005</span> <span class=time_text>07:47 PM</span>

Sorry for the late response Drakkonan, Faydre has been quite busy lately, so I'll answer the question for you. In the end where all the credits are, you can see what music was played, and unless I'm mistaken, it's listed in the same order that they were played. I think the song you're refering to is made by Jeremy Soule in Morrowind. <div></div>

<DIV>As an editer myself, i feel the need to give my opinions :smileywink:</DIV> <DIV>Right off the bat I want to say Congrats to your guild and very nice job on the movie. </DIV> <DIV>Although im mainly editing Anime, I have done a few Everquest 2 videos myself. As soon as my website is back up and running I plan on putting them on the forums as well <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV>My following rateings are based on values of 1-10, 1 being the suck and 10 being the uber. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Originality - 7</DIV> <DIV>Why? Because most everquest2 movies i've seen are pretty much the same story line. Including mine, hehe. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Capture/Output Quality - 9</DIV> <DIV>Why? Your quality is very very nice a majority of the time. But the UI and the battle scenes your quality is not good <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Action/Editing Sync - 9</DIV> <DIV>Why? I wanted to give a 10, however there was not MUCH action. Very very nice editing. Sonic is one of the best editers, and the whole time i was thinking "Thank god not a WMM user" Its very good editing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lip Synch - N/A</DIV> <DIV>why? Heh, ok... guess we cant Lip Synch with our EQ2 videos. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Digital Effects - 5</DIV> <DIV>Why? Well there was not much digital effects, but there was some. And it flowed. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Effort - 10 </DIV> <DIV>Why? I can tell the amount of effort you put into this. And i know the hassle of useing 5-6 different editing programs to get what you want. I also know what a pain it can be sometimes to get the scene the way you want it, in everquest 2. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Re-Viewable - 4</DIV> <DIV>Why? Although its a very nice video, There is not too much action, and my personal opinion all the scenery gets kind of boreing the 3rd or 4th time that I watch it. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good: Nice Quality, Nice music choices, Nice general "story". </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bad: I thought the movie was so proffesional style, untill you brought the scenes with the UI mod in it. it kind of ruined it </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Feel free to ask me questions about my rateings by sending me a PM =)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>Ill agree with alot of zemfirmas points...mainly about the lack of action near the beginning. Of course i have no right to place expectations. I just simply really liked the end after the UI part , where we saw the gnome, and the darkelf runnning through antonica, and the characters (the ones that used emotes while being recorded). The beginning was beautiful and I respect that you didnt want to include characters in that whole part...but it just seemed that except for the opening scene all the recording of the zones was just the recorder walking forward. Make it seem like were doign more than zooming in! I wont complain about the UI part because hey, i dont blame you for wanting your fight to go smoothly instead of prettily...and for not wanting to chance it by hitting f10. It was kinda cool, watching you kill all those mobs. It really pushed hte point about the guild making 30. </P> <P>Now this is all hypocritical because personally as someone who can no longer play EQ2 Ive kept the movie saved to my computer and watched it about 50 times. I LOVE the dragons...seeing screenshots does no justice to their graphics...its about the way they move. The movie let me see places that i never got to because i had to quit. I really hope yall decide to make another! </P>

Id like to start off by saying, Thank you. The response i've gotten from this movie has been amazing, and im glad to hear that most of you liked it. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I guess I should take the time to answer some of the points that has been brought up."Digital Effects - 5Why? Well there was not much digital effects, but there was some. And it flowed."For this movie I wanted to make sure that I didnt overuse the speciel effects that I was able to use. Mainly because I didnt want to take the focus off the movie, by trying to show off with some cheap effects. As said, alot of effects are easy to use, but in the end I feel that most have allready been used to the same extent as the lens flare. Which just makes me shiver each time I see it now a days in a picture or movie."Re-Viewable - 4Why? Although its a very nice video, There is not too much action, and my personal opinion all the scenery gets kind of boreing the 3rd or 4th time that I watch it."This part I can agree with myself, that yes, there wasn't really enough action in the movie, even though it wasnt my intention to make an "action" oriented movie. In the end I guess I was just to lazy to edit out some of the scenery parts, because I didnt want to resync it with the music <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />"Bad: I thought the movie was so proffesional style, untill you brought the scenes with the UI mod in it. it kind of ruined it"This part is pretty easy to explain why it was done the way it was, mainly because, lol...not easy to fight Krath'uk and say Vaz'Gok now a day's and you kind need the full attention of everyone in the raid, especially since Im always in the MT group aswell. So I just didnt have the time to change my gfx and take away the interface. I was able to do it on the easier ones, but then I realized it would just look weirder if I had some parts with the UI and some raid parts without, so I decided to stick with showing the UI, since afterall..its apart of the game, and what we use everyday.Im glad you took the time for that short review, adressing some points that I will look into for the next one, thanks <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />And yes, I will make a new movie, workin on the idea and concept etc atm.
