[Removed for Content] I miss those good ole days of eq1. it's soo depressing to know that I can never really exactly feel those same great feelings i used to get. you can only play the game new once. such a shame. i was hoping and hoping that eq2 would be full of new great feelings but i've been soo disappointed :smileysad:

I really get so amazed when I look at some of the EQ1 pics This is coming from someone who didnt have the chance, I feel like I missed out on something big.

The creatures, the size, the danger, the fear of dying, running from here to there to the Overthere, all were things I truly enjoyed. And the scale of the game was amazing. Many places just had a truly epic and immersive feel to them, you couldn't help but love it. But what really made it such a great experience were all the people I met along the way and conquered stuff with. That was the best part of it all and the part I miss the most.

Some of my fondest memories:

- Dying in East Commonlands to a griffon I never even saw

- Zoning into West Commonlands for the first time and being scared to venture even a few steps away from the zoneline :smileysurprised:

- Taking my first boat ride across to Faydwer, totally unsure of what to expect

- Taking my first boat ride at 27 to Firiona Vie...and falling in the water when the shuttle zoned.

- The first time I camped the Sarnak fort in LOIO

- The first time I camped the giant fort in Frontier Mountains

- Corpse runs back to Dalnir at night with that eerie ambient noise of wolves howling in the background. :smileysurprised:

- My first time in Karnor's Castle at 38 and winning Cobalt Boots, which I wore proudly for the next 10 levels.

- Me and a buddy doing the Mino Hero Bracer quest over and over so we could sell them and split the 1,000p profit.

- My very first big raid at level 45 against Venril Sathir. OMG the blood was pumping fast for that.

- Naggy and Vox raids that were 50+ in size...and failing

- Buff stations! :smileyvery-happy:

- Leading my first Naggy raid...and holding TWO Cloaks of Flames in my hands afterwards, neither of which I won.

- Dying over and over and over...and over in Plane of Fear at 47

- Me and 5 other officers doing a scouting run for our guild in the Kael arena area

- My first night as an app to my new guild being told to grab my resist gear because we were going to try Halls of Testing in Temple of Veeshan for the first time. OMG...I'm finally going to ToV!

- Doing the Riff house cycle in Kael with a 35 person raid

- My first trip to Sebilis.

- Being one of 3 people left against Velketor when he turned to flee, then subsequently watching the /guildchat go from "Dammit. we wiped again" to "OMG we won??? Wooooot!! " was simply awesome!

- Sontalak, nuff said

- My first Yelinak raid. The run up to his lair in Skyshrine was soooooooooo long but I enjoyed every single second of it (well, the first time I did)

- Winning my first piece of ToV quest armor, and then watching 10 of us make that long run all the way up Skyshrine again to turn in for rewards.

- Finally killing Severilous to complete my epic after over a year. This had been a goal of mine since I was level 10.

- Grinding away in Velks and Chardok with friends and guildees.

Wow. I could keep going but this is starting to get emotional :smileyhappy: Truly great times!

Heh, Can't say I regret missing those graphics, but they are a hell of alot better than the 3D garbage Ultima Online came out with. And, baby, look at us now! What a difference! Thanks for the blast into the past
