<DIV>Welcome to the World of EverQuest 2, where even the best of gaming rigs cannot run everything maxed at any time other than taking screenshots! (I probably get 10fps in Willow Wood with maximum textures and Environment Shadow on) <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But we love screenshots, anyway, even though we don't get to play with these graphics 80% of the time~ T_T</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On to the eyecandies, then~  This game's graphics is a wonder to behold!  (and do share your screenies!)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#9966ff>Pixel Shader Yumminess~</FONT></DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://www.furnation.com/bagheera/Art/EQ000Hi.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><EM><FONT color=#9966ff>Cozy Inn room~ (Love the shader effect on the glass flask)</FONT></EM></DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://www.furnation.com/bagheera/Art/EQ001Hi.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><EM><FONT color=#9966ff>Love the headdress texture~  Never too much details!</FONT></EM></DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://www.furnation.com/bagheera/Art/EQ008Hi.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><EM><FONT color=#9966ff>I swear I can honestly smell the ocean during the Far Journey scene - can't you?  The gleaming ocean waves crushing against the sailing ship, making its hull creak softly - it puts me right on the spot!  The moment is so perfect!  So far my favorite chapter in the game.</FONT></EM></DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://www.furnation.com/bagheera/Art/EQ007Hi.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#9999ff><EM>Iksars look FREAKING COOL? <DIV>Radeon 9700 Pro running on 23" Apple Cinema HD LCD; not exactly a new card, but performance seems to be solid still (CPU is Athlon XP 2700+ with 1GB of Corsair XMS DDR).  Really gorgeous during gameplay as well - I can have textures set to maximum and have the game be fairly playable, but as stated earlier, need to switch off Environment Shadowing or else I get very low frame rate.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am really hoping to be able to run around with Environment Shadow enabled though - I know it's hard at this resolution but I am gonna try anyway - I just ordered a new Radeon X800 XT and another 512 MB of Corsair XMS on Monday.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Amazing what good games can make you do for your computer eh?  <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  I gotta say though, EQ2 is a true performance killer; my computer weathered the entire Doom 3 at highest settings just fine, but EQ2 beats it to death with anyway.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Jowana on <span class=date_text>11-17-2004</span> <span class=time_text>08:15 AM</span>

<DIV>I have that card AND that monitor, but I don't use the monitor on my PC since it's attached to my G5, and I use the G5 to look things up while I'm playing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I did buy the ADC->DVI converter and tried EQ1 with the monitor. It was **bleep** nice. Haven't tried it with EQ2 yet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>EDIT: I saw your settings. It was scrolled off to the right of the page <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I couldn't get shadows working with EQ1 with my 9700 for some reason.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mike</DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Starman on <span class=date_text>11-17-2004</span> <span class=time_text>11:11 AM</span>

<DIV>Unless you use your G5 to do graphic works (3D rendering, Photoshop, etc.), I suggest you switch the monitors for your Mac and PC and use the 23" for your regular tasks.  Bigger screens tend to be easier on the eyes anyway, and gaming on a 23" is simply an unparalleled experience - and there aren't much games out for Mac, so...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hmm, I am not sure about your trouble with EQ1 since I never played it, but I never had much rendering problem with my 9700 Pro.  Screw EQ1 though - if things work fine in EQ2, then it's all you should care about! XD</DIV>

<DIV>Actually, I do use it for Photoshop, FCP, DVD SP, etc. I can't justify another $2k on another monitor. It's just that when I'm playing EQ2, the monitor has to be on the Mac. I haven't found a good way to switch them yet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mike</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>May be an adaptor for your PC monitor to be used on Mac? <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  So you can switch the two around?</DIV>
