In both optimal raid setups...and say...a casual guild without always the optimal raid setups, can you give me the best two weapons possible?

casual raid guild... mm prolly the 2 dual wields from labs ? absolution and adamantine dragonfangthe DW from MMIS is nice, vampric axe.. from first named which is easy, the DW from HoS dirk of negativity the dw from drake in DT is nice with the slashing proc aswell (talonsreach or something, cant remember exact name off hand).. and the one with the pet proc is good for soloing since it has more chance of malignant mark proccing aswell

Message Edited by R2Chief2 on 01-29-2007 09:45 PM

The best I've seen are the Grinning Dirk of Horror (from Lyceum) and Rapier of Darkness (from MMIS). The Dirk of Negativity from HOS is a close third.

The DT sword with the pet proc is annoying because the pet breaks stealth every time he attacks. Plus it isn't really good.

At least it was breaking stealth the last time I used it... a few months ago.

GDoH + Rapier of Darkness / Dirk of Negativity. Vampiric Axe of Balance / Maestro's Flame are good alternatives for the suggested secondary weapons...granted you won't be hitting many orange cons but they work well against yellows, plus MF has +2% to crits and a perma proc on CAs that at 300+ int crits for 120 fire damage.

Maestro Kerberos in the epic portion of Mistmoore Castle. He's a x2 contested mob on a 16 hours timer...I think. Not sure about it. Be warned though...all the x2 mobs have a rare drop, the legendary stuff, and common drops, treasured stuff. There's a great chance that you won't get the Maestro's Flame right away.

I've been using GDOH and Maestor's Flame and they're working great. Also have DoN which goes on sometimes.

I guess I am the only one who likes Vyemm's Fang with its 62.5 damage rating and good stats.

I have DoN and RoD.

Once I finally get GDOH i will be using it in mainhand with RoD in offhand.

Probably going for +5 piercing adornments on both those weapons so as to get piercing to 450+

i used to have the +5 skill mods on both of my weapons. i have found that in a decient raid setup. you will not be missing that much. i switched to the vampiric handle on my primary, vampirica axe of balance, and the runic temper on my off hand, rapier of darkness. after doing this i noticed a nice little dps boost.

I am almost always in the MT group. with a guardian, dirge, templar, defilier. and either a warden or bursier depending on the encounter.

Currently using GDOH and Dirk of nightfall - Rapier seems fairly similar but dont have so cant compare

When i swop out Nightfall for DON see hardly any difference in dps.

Not got vampiric axe so cant comment

You need to understand the mechanics. Regardless, any fabled piercing DW is going to be better than what you got.

Dark Linger from OOB is a very nice primary weapon indeed for non-fabled (no str on it but 2sec dly, nice spread and large lifetap proc) that plus an Ancient Velium Kris makes a nice broker-buyable pair) - im still using mine paired with an adamantine dragonfang while waiting on a gdoh/don dropping

Message Edited by Xebed on 02-05-2007 11:54 PM

Has anyone tried out GDoH and the meistros flame yet?

GDoH in mainhand for mad proc % meistros flame in offhand for more mad proc dmg

I raid alternating between a combo of GDoH / RoD and GDoH / MF. MF is awesome for the perma proc, at 350+ int you crit most of the time for about 120 fire damage, and the extra +2% to crits. Thing is, on orange mobs it's pure garbage and the sad thing is, there's not enough gear in game with +slash to raise your slash skill to a decent level.

On yellow nameds it's badass though and rarely misses. Thing is, I've yet to notice a difference on parses between both setups.

I'd think the wurmslayer would be a great weapon as well considering it's dmg spread and delay. The proc makes it hit like a truck in the KoS zones. Unless you absolutely adverse to tradeskilling, this weapon isn't hard to do with a casual raid guild. Something i can't imagine any casual raid guild not being able to help pull off as long as you can do the combines.

The tradeskill requirement is no longer an issue given you can comission somebody to craft the combines for you. Wurmslayer is pretty awesome above all due to its 3.0 delay.

Wurmslayer and Dirk of Nightfall here. Only because the GDoH just refuses to drop. I'll swap out Wurmslayer for the GDoH if it ever does.

I've got a bunch of weapons in my bags, but not sure which combo to use... I have a GDoH, Dirk of Nightfall, Rapier of Darkness, and Wurmslayer (and a bunch of other inferior weapons) Generally I've been raiding with GDoH and the RoD, but I can't decide whether it's better to switch out the RoD for the Dirk of Nightfall. Has anyone parsed offhanding with RoD and DoNightfall to see which is better? Also, a guy in my guild claims that with a proper group set up, the GDoH should be swapped out for a different weapon, but that doesn't make much sense to me... Any ideas?

GDoH / RoD is what I'm shooting for but the darn RoD won't drop. the dirk of nightfall despite having a proc is a pretty lousy weapon. the ratio stinks and the delay is too fast. it's the better of the two weapons from the princes but both are inferior to GDoH , RoD , Dirk of Negativity & that piercer from the Clockwork Menace.

The wurmslayer is pretty good. If you are doing the claymore, the final reward is also decent except it's a slasher. (you need some slashers, though, even if you normally use your pierce weapons ) In Labs, you can get Adamantine Dragonfang (eh), Absolution (decent), Oblivion's Edge (decent but not pierce). They drop pretty regularly.

I gave up at lvl 41 on crafting ;-(

Take someone down to the forge that has the relevant crafting level and you can get them to make it for you. I window opens and you place the items in there and they craft, when done you get the finished article.

They also need to have gotten the recipe themselves, since you can't give them the recipe. Same is true for the BCG.
