View Full Version : Raiding: +STR or +INT for adornments and charms?

I have an option on wrist adornments and on the charm slot. With +14 for each slot that's a total of +56 to STR or INT.My base STR at the moment is 508 and INT is 182 with no charms or adornments. In a raid I am usually at around 650-700STR, sometimes as high as 750. I have the AA INT and STR line crit chances maxed out. Is it better for me to get +STR or +INT at this point? I seem to be getting an awful lot of bang for the buck damage wise out of my +INT gear but +56 STR would be nice as well. <div></div>

While I don't have heavy raid experience, I'd say INT is your best bet. More damage on your procs and poisons never hurt, and one thing I've been trying to find out is if your INT effects your DoT procs from CA's. If someone could enlighten me there, it would be much appreciated.<div></div>

I'd go for STR unless you're at 800-850 on raids all the time. The reason is simple. STR improves 90% of your dmg, INT improves 10% of your dmg. You have to hit a 10x point of diminishing returns before you'd want to switch.

Yeah I was able to hit 840 STR last night but that was using the +60 potion and already swapped over to all STR gear.I checked my parse and I am doing around 10-11% of my damage with procs (blade chime, caustic, weapon procs, etc.). Do all our combat arts, even "semi-proc" ones like mark, go off STR. Mark is about 13% of my damage. I also looked at the % of damage some of the rangers were doing with THEIR caustic. Holy crap, is their AA that good? I still think STR would be better maybe all the way to the cap because like you said a point in INT would have to give me ten times the bang for my buck to be worth it. <div></div>

talking about raids, use +28 STAM on your charm slots because you need quite a lot of hpoh and by the way!you cant adorn any item with "imbued" in its name, like pristime imbued dragons whatever hexdoll !same is with pristine imbued acrylia band of agility or stamina :/<p>Message Edited by Nathdorl on <span class=date_text>01-16-2007</span> <span class=time_text>07:56 PM</span>

So a long bow will actually be procing at twice the listed rate. In order for a ranger to get outstanding dps, they must time their CAs to fire inbetween the Bow Auto Attack.</DIV>
