View Full Version : Trying to think of a slightly different build for my assassin and need help with numbers for DPS

<DIV>Ok, I been trying to find a way to squeeze more dps out. And I am wondering, how much of a difference it would make if I started losing a little str to gain more melee crit chance. I use GDoH in main hand, and using adamtine dagger for just its stats to attributes. But I have other off hand wapons I could put there like Qeynos Cutluss that has a higher max damage. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now, I realize with GDoH I need haste. I have cloak of fire with 25% haste on it. And I just need Talendor for the neck/wrist item 22% haste. Granted I can only use one of them. I have the Rallos Zek cloak, that has that proc on it. So, not sure which cloak will be better once I kill Talendor to get that item for DPS. That proc or the 3% more haste. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now, you can get neck adornments made that give 2% haste or melee crit chance. Both are legendary adornments, and the haste adornments actually stack. You can put the haste neck adornment on the DT access reward, and then requip it on your wrist with that adornment for haste, or melee crit. The hand of glory final reward is a decent ear ring that has melee crit chance 1% on it. One of the named werewolfs in loping plains give a leather tunic reward that is treasured, with ok stats but also has melee crit chance 1% on it. So I could go with melee crit chance of 6% with like -10 str and 22 haste with a Rallos cloak proc. Or go 6% crit chance 25 haste with cloak of flames. Or just make the neck adornments haste, and have 2% melee crit chance but an addtionally 4 haste to either combo of cloak of flames or DT access reward. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At first I thought 1% to 2% of melee crit is just a waste. And it isnt something I am really going to notice soloing or grouping, cause well that part of the game is no real challenge, besides trying to solo names I shoudnt be, or like Nizara or Castle Mistmoore with a mediocre group. But on raids, I am wondering if it would add up over the longer fights? How much damage would I lose or gain with GDoH criting slightly more but at a slightly less haste? And is that proc on Rallos cloak more damage over raiidng then 3% haste of Cloak of Flames?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now, I suck at crunching numbers. I have ACT oarser, newest version. But when raiding, it really bogs down my system running ACT, EQ2 with /log on, and also Ventrillo. I have to be in Vent, and I have to play EQ2 so I cant really do the parser. And I really suck, once again, at crunching numbers. Then I have to take into account which group buffs I had on me, which differs for me on raids, even if the same zone, different week. Was hoping maybe someone else has either done the math, or maybe is also curious that has the time and EQ2 maths skills to figure it out.</DIV>

I decided the 2x2% haste is not worth it compared to 2x10%dps. Jury still out on crit %. I'm poor or I'd run a week of raids on both.<div></div>

Dps doesen't scale up much right now even with self buffed dps+acrylia ring. 25% solo melee crits ftw with rallos zek cloak <div></div>
