<DIV>I am a 62 assassin and just now starting to see the DPS potential that we have. I realize that later in the 60's  - and specifically with exacting - that a specific strategy for maximizing skills and DPS would probably be a huge boost. Currently I play kinda haphazard, moderate dmg stealth attack to open, then marking and debuffing, then mele and high damage attacks ready to throw in a deaggro or two as necessary. Once I get exacting I think I will need to be more disciplined in my attacks. Q: how do you use exacting to maximize it. Also - are there any other key strategies for using t7 skills to maximize DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Finally there are the poisons. To show what a newb i am I just realized about 2 levels ago that I can stack three poisons. I currently use the mastercrafted t7s direct poison - str and attack debuff - and either the de-aggro or the attack speed de-buff. Anyone found any poisons to be greatly more effective than others?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I realize that this info is prolly in the threads in various forms somewhere. I have been trying to find it but much of it is out of date and it is hard to tell what is accurate now. I would appreciate it mucho if any established dps masters could help me out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks</DIV>

as for your poisons, what you're using is fine.  the only time you'll want to think about switching is on very long fights where you'll definitely go out of power, then pop a mental breach instead of that caustic.exacting.. well i used to use it primarily on fights where there was at least 2 mobs, due to the fact that it increases the damage of cloaked assault, and with that on you can get 3 off a fight.  also it lets you toss out finishing blow early into the fight and let it be up again for under 20%(on certain mobs only, some just die too fast for this to work)  but now that i've specced into the reduced recast time for exacting, i use it pretty much for everything, its up every other fight so might as well.<div></div>

<DIV>It depends on the situation.  on group fights, well, just use it when everything won't be dead in 10 seconds.  or if everything is dying fast constantly, use it all the time. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On raids, you want to let a few seconds of debuffs land, and get your own debuffs in, before doing your DOT & backstabs.  I usually get those going on my own as well.  Then I start exacting and cast all the DOTs + crippling strike.  After that, hit concealment and do all the backstabs.   After that you're casting as stuff comes up for the most part. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There is one exception and that is the Mark line.  I use that immediately because it has a such a short recast timer.  It's worth getting two or three of them in if you can versus trying to maximize its damage.  Always use your finishing blow at the correct time unless the mob is up long enough to get it twice, in which case use it early as well. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You can use three poisons but it gets pretty expensive.  I usually only have the damage poison up unless there is a reason to use the debuffers or util.  If you have the budget, then feel free <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>p.s. if you have a brigand on the raid, wait for his call on his big debuff before doing the concealment+backstabs.  it will make a large difference.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>p.p.s. group setup is very important</DIV><p>Message Edited by Xney on <span class=date_text>12-15-2006</span> <span class=time_text>01:14 PM</span>

Warding Ebb will reduce mobs resistances against your poisons. With crits, debuffs and warding ebb, it's not unusual to get 1200+ damage hits on Caustic Poison procs.  Gracelessness will reduce the mobs resistances to piercing and other Melee damage--which all your high damage CA's (i.e. Assassinate/Decapitate) are based, effectively making them a little stronger.</P> <P>When maximizing DPS, open with Mark line, and reapply *every* time it's available. Get off your DoT's early and reapply when available. Don't save your Honed Reflexes--Use it whenever it's up before a fight.</P> <P> </P>
