Dear Scary People

It’s a bit intimidating to come here from the Dirge boards, one tends to want to check one’s J-boots for deadly scorpions. But, times are tough for a poor country lass trying to make a living in the big city, and I wanted to ask a question.

I’m a modestly-successful jeweler – no, I don’t keep my money in a strongbox in my apartment so don’t even think about it – and I’ve made most of my modestly-successful income off ranger adept 3 upgrades because I live in Qeynos. But <STRIKE>the word seems to have gotten out about the shoddy workmanship and inflated prices</STRIKE> things have been slow recently, and I’m looking to branch out. I’d offer bard stuff but despite being the intellectual and artistic elite of Norrath, we’re few and poor and marketing to bards is a good way to starve to death. Brigands and swashbucklers, I don’t know, I just don’t have the style-sense. On the other hand, you can’t trip over a rock in the wilds without stepping on someone in exotic black leatherware smearing something suspicious-looking onto some horrible instrument or another. Plus, there’s just tons of assassins, too.

Unfortunately, the ol’ marketing budget won’t extend to fifteen spongy loams and another dozen alkali loams, so I’m here to ask, if it won’t get me a scorpion in my sensible cotton socks, and if it will just pretend I didn’t:

What assassin Ad3s are ‘must-haves’ from level 50-70???

Thanks, in advance.

Whysprr Wyrdwynd, trying to tiptoe off before anyone notices her but feeling something unpleasant in her J-boots…

Must have's or perceived must haves?

A lot of people have decapitate as a high priority, but for me it would be one of the last spells I'd upgrade. It's also going to make a difference if the person's interested in raiding or not.

From a marketing perspective, I'd say any of the ones that it's hard to find the master for:

Finishing blow

Whirling blades

Crippling strike

Concealment

Freezing strike

Cloaked assault

Slaughtersault

Decapitate

Apply poison

Adroit defence

Murderous design? (not sure if this one is hard to find or not)

Assassinate (mostly because it doesn't get upgraded until 70)

Message Edited by whytakemine on 12-14-2006 03:34 PM

The only skills where masters are pretty rare for are:

The 57-59 masters (t6) (i.e. whirling blades, adroit defense)

decapitate

the AOEs (cloaked assault more than slaughtersault)

Murderous Design (t6 hate transfer)

Apply poison (t6 poison buff)

Most of the others I see masters for pretty regularly, although sometimes they are priced high.
