Lo guysRecently I attended a raid and was asked by the RL to ninja pull using a very long range CA or something. Since I have little experience in raiding, I hadnt heard of this before, so started to look at my various CAs for the one he was talking about. Does anyone here know what he is talking about? P.S. The only skill I found with 50 m range was Pitiful Plea (deaggro), but this isnt an assassin only skill afaik. Is this it?

I would presume he was referring to Improved Surveil... which I think is our highest level deagro pulling spell.

Works a dream, but when it goes wrong MUHAHAHA oh what fun!

Works well with agro redirect as well.

Wack your agro redirect onto tank (just in case)

Target Mob to pull (but obviously mind out for social mob agro etc etc)

Try to make sure you are not too far from your tank, and he is the next closest player to you and the mob.

Then fire it off... should drop you into sneak and pull the mob, if you are lucky and it doesnt agro you or ae to drop your sneak then you are in a great position

to let loose on the back of the mob.

If you spot Elude in just before the mob gets to you it'll go right for whoever you've got hate on.Kinda fun if you stick hate on a paper wizzy while setting up fer raid

The skill is Surveillance. Only surveillance works, surveil does not (I have died numerous times demonstrating this to team mates). Surveillance is the lvl 70 deaggro stealth.Use it and a mob can run past 100 good friends without social pulling them with it.Most tanks completely ignore you if you suggest it (I reckon its a matter of pride for them) in groups, but raids use it to pull a named or something they can't be bothered to clear to.Very useful, and if you have a transfer it should head to the tank automatically anyway :smileywink:

Step 1 ninja-aggro transfer swashy, brigand, or whoever looks stupid in your groupStep 2 Type "bio afk" in raid chatStep 3 go invis, while invis use survalliance on the cloest single target raid mob(Make sure ur invis so U dont go invis suddenly with surviel)Step 4 watch while swashy, brigand gets owned in the faceStep 5 quickly click off hate transferStep 6 Type "back" in raid chatStep 7 Yell in vent: "[expletive haxx0red by Raijinn], who the stupid f, [Removed for Content] stupid swashy, brignad... [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]"Assassin FTW
Message Edited by judged_one on 10-10-2006 10:48 AM

So, using something like evade won't work either?

Korben wrote:

So, using something like evade won't work either?

The evade line is generally too short range, and not enough aggro reduction. The surveil line has a startling range. The assassin and the tank can edge their way into a door (say, at the bottom of Temple of Scale, which is the last place we did this in) with the rest of the players safe in the pull-to spot, then the assassin can target the tank and hit surveil (or improved surveil, whatever) and get the pull right.(Of course, if either the assassin or the tank is careless this is also a good way to incur large repair bills. Remember, kids: always group with tanks you trust! :smileyvery-happy: )

You sure this works? I was almost positive that the mobs would social after being hit with Surveillance.

Some places this works perfectly and some places you get the whole zone. Surveil, Imp. Surveil and Surveillance all work its just a shame they nerfed the range and made mobs a bit more social. :smileyvery-happy:

.... *scribbles down* Must remember to buy Surveillance and check for any other skills I have missed.

oh blooming joy, all this time using sodding Improved Surveil, tho still works a treat for me. Occasionally it breaks but I play with a small tight-knit group so the meat shield is always ready with a taunt as soon as it is in range.

I've used Surveillance in the builder room and gotten social aggro. I find to avoid this try to cast it when the targetted mob isn't right up against another mob. I've used it in other areas too where it doesn't matter if the mob is right on top or not.. so I'm guessing its not which spell in the line you're using, but what exact mob/room you're up against.

Maybe it has to do with how much deaggro it is in comparison to the mobs lvl? It would explain why the others worked when you were fighting that tier atleast... but just a wild guess thrown out there. At AD3 Surviellance I have not once gotten more than 1 mob and i spend most of my time running around SoS 'trying' to solo claymore.

The entire line works fine to do this. The issue is that the higher in the line you go, the less likely social aggro is.(Which barely makes sense, considering you theoretically have nearly 0 aggro no matter which you use) I used Improved Surveil for a while in Vyemms before I bought Surveillance.
