<DIV>My main is a level 63 assassin. I am trying to level up as fast as I can to get ready for the raids. What I need to know is what gear I should be using to be effective in the raids? This may need to include weapons, armor, poisons, etc. Thanks in advance.</DIV>

Acrylia imbued ring of strength and agility.  You'll only not wear these, when you need resists.   MOA for neck.  If you craft, get wurmy up, its possibly the best DW for KoS as the proc is insane.  Other than that, get STR gear and Masters/Adept3s

Since you are a melee you *NEED* to live through the AoEs,  getting resist jewelery is a good idea if you don't have a lot a extra gear with resists on them.<div></div>

<DIV>It seems that you are hurrying to get your character up so I am going to assume you dont have a box full of t6 fabled to start with.  Ok for jewlery the mastercrafted stuff is a good starting point, lots of strength etc on it.  For rings if you get a hold of them dark chitin also works quite well.  As said use moa for neck if you can get it, if not just more player crafted will suffice.  Depending on your expendable alchemy budget you will either want to carry a variety and switch according to the situation with mental breech etc. or just keep it simple with caustic, warding ebb etc.  Armor you could probably get away with player crafted but there are some decent legendary drops too - ex. queen's carapace decent stats and cold resist zhardiz's leggings good stats and heat resist.  Also have a set of resist jewlery for nox, elemental, arcane - the cheap stuff should work for the time being.  As far as weapons I used t6 fabled when starting at t7, or get a hold of 2 turadrimin's fang or another legendary weapon.</DIV>

<div></div>As a Templar (with Assassin alt) I can second this. Assassins die a LOT on raids. I feel bad sometimes when they are dying so much, but it is not always easy to get a heal off to a melee class that is getting beat up by AE. It probably seems like you are in the red forever, but for us spamming heals to the tank, and waiting on refresh timers...yeah it gets hectic. Back out of AE range until someone can throw you a heal if you are low.You can get decent resist gear for about 10gp per slot. Ask what resists are needed before heading in to a new mob that you are unsure of.  This jewlery does not have many stats on it, so good gear with resists is better.edit - potions are good to carry, cure noxious, arcane, poison and elemental. being able to cure yourself on a nasty DoT helps. Healers don't get all the grp cures and you could be dead by the time they cure the whole grp individually.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Bjerde on <span class=date_text>10-04-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:39 AM</span>

Forgot to add another blue you can use sometimes is one that reduces your hate.  That turgor potion is really good though so try not to use the hate reduce one unless you keep pulling aggro.  (After all if you get naked you aren't doing the raid a lot of good!)<div></div>

<DIV>So, let me see if I understand. If I don't have strength based armor with resistances preferably mastercrafted or better. Also, have the appropriate jewelry whether the jewelry has stats and/or resistances as well mastercrafted or better. Not sure what wurmy or MOA is but I don't have a weaponsmith. If a weaponsmith is needed then I can create one.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Currently I am wearing Awakended Scaleguard chain armor because it was better than the Indium armor I had. I also bought some interim armor until i get the more useful armor you all have been talking about. I have managed to get Stygian chain armor which is all stats and no resistances. Are there any particular names of armor I need to look for on the broker or just anything that is strength based?</DIV>

Thanks for all the good advice. When should I start considering on joining raids?

Neribus

Not until you hit 70, 69 at the earliest.  This is because of a few things like actually surviving the AoEs, sure you can get like 10k resist but the more levels the mob is above you the less you can mitigate their AoEs (you will take more damage); and you will be missing a lot on the mobs until you get to 70 because some mobs will be 74, so you won't be doing great DPS.<div></div>

<div></div>From my stand point, I would try to powerlevel to 70 and try to get in as many t7 raids as I can.  Maybe its because in Kingdom of Sky, scout chain armor is really really REALLY REALLY rare, at least for my guild.  Maybe the lack of chain fabled (at least for my guild) is reason to t6, but i still stay power to 70, try to get into t7 raids becuase the sooner you get in the sooner you can try to get gear. If you can't get into t7 raids, t6 is still a good back plan.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Neribus on <span class=date_text>10-13-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:18 AM</span>

<DIV>I pity the scouts in your guild then. We had 2 Nemesis Vests (same chest too), Nemesis boots and gloves and I think Relic gloves drop in one night of Labs raiding. Labs is usually pretty good to our scouts but it does have its days.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2/fatbastard69/Tag2.jpg"></DIV>

<DIV>Same story with chain in my guild.  As of late it seems to never drop.  Almost evey leather wearer has most relic and their respective set ex. excarnate out of labs.  Most mages are also pretty well geared at this point, we seem to get a relic robe every raid.  Relic plate has been going to alts for quite some time.  Chain however is just rare.  I think we have seen one piece of fabled Nemesis in the past month and very little relic.  The crab has not been forthcoming nor have the other raid zones.  Last night a brigand burnt his total dkp on a relic chain chest, were that cloth or another type it would have gone for 1/4 of what he spent.  I don't know if we keep having bad luck or what but the drop rate has really gone down from the early days of t7.</DIV>

<P>The Relic Chain Chest is quite elusive. Had myself, a Brig and a Mystic all drop total DKP on one and one of our Defilers got lucky the other night and won one in a pickup trash run. We've seen 3 in about 6 months of hitting Labs on a weekly basis. Its not unusual for us to see at least one piece of chain drop in Labs each time but there have been times where 2-3 pieces have dropped and times where nothing has dropped.  Fabled out armor wise so I'm hoping we see some belt, jewelry drops come our way and stil looking to replace Grizfazzles dirk. Only thing dropping in there so far has been Adamantine Dragonfang and Absoloution for us so Oblivions Edge and Vyemms fang have been hiding. I'm also told that there are 3 really nice belts that drop in Labs but we've seen only one thus far. Its so random in there its hard to get an idea of what to expect.</P> <P> </P> <P><IMG src="http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2/fatbastard69/Tag2.jpg"></P>
