Depends what you will mostly be doing, solo, raiding ect..., but for upgrading your damage skills, I just followed what came top on my parses and made way down. The below parse, if i remember correctly is for Spirit of the lost epic raid instance, and was mentored to lvl54. Loads of AOE in there so the aoe CA's will be higher than other occasions. Dont bother getting Malignant Mark (proc/parses are agonising pain) upgraded beforehand as this is the only one worth choosing for your Master2 at lvl64 (best assassin skill <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />)<a href="http://www2.filehost.to/files/2006-08-08_03/225219_pestilent.gif" target=_blank>Parse of CA's</a>Good luck <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>
<P>Thanks for the reply that was great info.</P> <P>You mention Malignent Mark as the best choice for lvl64 Master, I have read the posts on the forum and was going to choose it but when I used the previous version (cannot remember it's name) it only proc's once before dropping. Is that the same for Malignent Mark ?</P> <P> </P>

<div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div>What happens with the Mark series is this:You use Malignent Mark on targetSomeone triggers Malignent Mark, Malignent Mark disappears from your maintained buff window.A debuff called Marked appears on your maintained buff window, its icon has a red background with a red/white ring archery/bullseye targetThe next 5 melee hits on the "Marked" target will trigger a proc called "Agonizing Pain" which is the damage proc.In your combat spam window it'll look something like this:YOU cast Malginent Mark on <MOB NAME>.YOUR Malginent Mark is triggered!<MOB NAME> is now Marked.YOU hit <MOB NAME> with Agonizing Pain for 1234 points of piercing damage! YOU hit <MOB NAME> with Agonizing Pain for 1432 points of piercing damage! YOU hit <MOB NAME> with Agonizing Pain for 1243 points of piercing damage! YOU hit <MOB NAME> with Agonizing Pain for 1324 points of piercing damage! YOU hit <MOB NAME> with Agonizing Pain for 1342 points of piercing damage! There will be other things between those messages, but thats basically the idea of what happens. If you just look at the Malginent Mark spell on your maintained bar it will just trigger once, since with the mark link of spells, the 5% chance is just the chance to cast the second debuff on the target, but malginent mark is not the damage part of it, look for the second debuff Marked and if that procs only once then I don't know. Sort of makes me wonder even if Malginent Mark isn't resisted, can Marked be resisted, since its a seperate debuff?<p>Message Edited by Neribus on <span class=date_text>10-04-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:10 AM</span>

At this point I'm only missing 4 CAs total that aren't Ad3/M1 (and they're ones I hardly ever use, so I don't mind waiting until I happen to harvest a loam) but I think I did a sensible thing and I started with all the rear ones, mostly.Decapitate, Killing Blade, Eviscerate, the one I can't remember the name of that's not Punch Blade, and Jugular. I have those all on a row on my hotbar, in that order, and IIRC they were the first five I made sure I had upgrades for. (Though I have to be honest: it's been a while and I was gifted with an M1 Killing Blade almost right when I got the skill, so I may have done things differently. I just remember having all 5 of those lined up and being happy about it.)It does depend what your play style is, if you do a lot of grouping or a lot of soloing, and so on. I found that Jugular was a great Ad3 to get very early because I liked to try yellow ^ mobs and I liked to do a lot of hard group instances (now easy since we're all 70s in raid gear, but at the time...), and an almost-never-miss 8-second stifle can make a really big difference in those situations. If, on the other hand, you don't really need that, something else would be more useful.<div></div>
