i have the Grinning Dirk of Horror, with 100% haste it auto attacks every 2s for about 500-1200 points.. that adds alot to my damage.I value haste over INT.. and i use my self DPS/Haste buffs when ever group ones are down.for me Auto Attack is about 400-700 DPS when in the right groups.. i use it as much as possible.Generally 1200-2200 DPS depending on the fight.<div></div>

Although auto-attack on the whole can be 35-50% of an Assassin's DPS, there are times when you don't want to be focused on it.If you're required to be jousting a mob with big AOE effects, or if your raid leader's strategies have you doing something else that doesn't have you more or less up the mob's backside the entire time (auto-attack range is smaller than CA range) you're not going to be maximizing your auto-attack DPS anyway. I think I get the most use out of haste and auto-attack on hard group mobs and lengthy dungeon crawls rather than on raid mobs. How I fight really does depend on the mob and the group. If I'm in a group of people I know, often work with, and trust I'll fight differently than if I'm grouping with people I either don't group with as often or don't perceive as being quite as good or as confident as members of my usual cohort. And being that I raid on a very small server (the smallest of all), our group composition and arrangements vary more than what most people are used to, so how I fight will really depend on the raid makeup, too.<div></div>

35-50% melee, thats a huge ammount. Dont think I have ever gone over 25%. what dps would you get for that over a 2min epic fight?Over 2 min fights I am now in the region of 1200-1500 with pausing slightly between hitting the next button (which i didnt do before) So it seems there should be a certain melee % that gives optimum dps?<div></div>
