To expand... you dont have to do a subclass quest anymore.  That was removed some time ago.  Instead, you pick your class upon character creation.  That means, right away you are an Assassin.  No waiting around as a Scout, then Predator, who finally achieves Assassinship.

although if your really a glutton you could roll a ranger and play him to 70, then betray to an assassin because your DPS sucks.<div></div>
